[BGE] 180 - Elise Finds a Spider

<AUTHOR'S NOTE>

I believe that this is the longest chapter to date. Also, for the first time in like 50 chapters, there's a stat sheet at the bottom, since I did do a bit of timeskipping, and wanted to show her progress.

Edit: also forgot to mention that I went back to chapter 177 and had Elise use {Power Word Kill} instead of {Forced Feeling} to kill the spiders

[CGE] 95 - !@#$%^&&Yona@#$%^&(*&^%$

Before I do anything else, I summon a dead boar and devour an entire leg at once. For some reason, I am incredibly hungry. I guess not eating for a month or however long I was out will do that to you. Only after eating do I finally check the notification that’s been hovering in front of my face the whole time. Unlike the usual notifications, this one is purple.

[ You’d better keep your promise. It is only because of me that you are alive right now. ]

[CGE] 94.5 - Sally Side Story 1

<AUTHOR'S NOTE>

When going back through my early chapters to refresh my memory to write this, I realized that I failed to convey a very important detail in those first few chapters: Sally and Henry are young. Mid-20s at the oldest. I know a few readers were picturing them as much older, but in my mind, they were always a young couple, and I've gone back and edited the word "young" into chapter 1 to indicate their age. Sally's age is pretty important for this side ...

<END AUTHOR'S NOTE>

Annie had never hated being undead more than now. She was a disembodied head, unable to do anything but think. And at the moment, her thoughts weren’t exactly fun to be alone with.

The revelation that not only was Yona once a human, but that the other monster she had killed in Wormwood was too was… unpleasant. It also k...

[BGE] 179 - In the Dungeon's Depths

Telvir was in the lead position as usual, but his mind was largely focused behind him. He had felt the pressure to do well ever since he made the grand decision to give up his immortality, but he had never felt it more so than now. How could he not? He was currently running the risk of angering a dragon, after all.

He still wasn’t completely sure that Eleanor was a dragon. The jury was out. Unlike her “sister,” she never seemed to use her {Dragon Eyes}, but if she was...

[CGE] 93 - Winter (3)

<AUTHOR'S NOTE>

This is the final part of Winter, and it's a long one. Almost double the length of a normal chapter. Hope you enjoy!

<END AUTHOR'S NOTE>

Whatever bond had remained between Yona and her father was broken, but she did not show it. She did occasional work for him, just to make sure she stayed plugged in to whatever he was doing, but mostly, she lived the life of a profligate heiress, and tried to stay as far from him...

[BGE] 178 - The Mysterious Red Herring

“What’s your real name?” asked Elise immediately.

“Ha!” said Samantha. “Well, hypothetically, if I was using a false name, that would be way too big of a secret for this little competition.”

Elise had expected as much, but was hoping to glean some useful information. An answer from a non-answer. Unfortunately, it didn’t really help. She was still fairly certain that Samantha Kipper wasn’t her real name, but Samantha’s response didn’t really ...

[CGE] 92 - Winter (2)

On Yona’s tenth birthday, she did not get a party. She had not had one for her eighth or ninth birthdays either. Not since her mother was killed.

Her father was not the only one who had changed after that incident. Yona herself was not the same. How could she be? Even after three years, she still had nightmares about that day, and often woke up crying.

Dinner that night was bland, boiled chicken. The chef that Yona’s mother had worked so hard to find was let go mor...

[CGE] 91 - Winter (1)

<AUTHOR'S NOTE>

Fair warning, this chapter, and the two after are going to be pretty dark. It's not overly graphic, and I don't go into great detail on the less savory aspects, but it's definitely by far the darkest part of this story, and it will remain the darkest part. I will never go this dark again, but I felt it was necessary for this section. Thanks for reading!

[BGE] 177 - Cave Spider Killing Competition

The entrances to the Silver sections of the Dungeon were quite different from the entrances to the Bronze areas. The Bronze entrances were all right near the surface, and were little more than doors with guards. The Silver entrances were all underground, though, and the school had dug out large rooms around them with enchantments to keep the ambient mana low to prevent spawns.

The rooms were not empty either. There were tables and chairs all around for students to rest before or a...

[CGE] 90 - Breaking the System (again)

To be honest, the options in the third hallway aren’t actually any better than the ones in the second. At least not stat-wise. I think they do suit me a little better than the ones in the other hallway though. Kind of.

The first one I spot is called Yona, the Gluttonous Gastronome. It looks like it’s more or less a direct upgrade of my current species, with roughly the same stat distribution, and a couple new Traits. Unfortunately, I don’t think I really need the Traits. One will ...

[BGE] 176 - Super Fun Trips Begin

Not long after Jag gave them permission to rub his belly, there was a knock on the door. It was Sophie, wondering what they were doing, and seeing no reason to hide the truth, they let her in and introduced her to Jag. Between the fact that Elise herself was a monster, and Jag’s own efforts to appear as non-threatening as possible, Sophie had no trouble accepting it, and soon joined them on the ground, feeling his fur.

A little while after that, they all went down to the sitting room,...

<AUTHOR'S NOTE>

Thank you for all the feedback on the physics of last chapter. I have updated the chapter to be more accurate to how physics works. I didn't want to re-notify, since it was only a few lines, and they were relatively unimportant, so I'm just letting you guys know here.

[CGE] 88 - Gluttony is Pleased

The mussels on this floor have tentacles. Those tentacles have nozzles on the end that fire water. Each mussel has eight tentacles, which means eight jets of water, and there are six mussels in the first room I enter on this floor. I don’t wanna do the math, but basically, there’s a ton of jets of super high-pressure water shooting at me from all angles, and it sucks.

Even worse, the water is much stronger than the water from the mussels on the other floor, and their shells ar...

[BGE] 175 - Bargain of Divine Proportions

Elise sensed powerful aether flow out of Jessie and into Jag for a few seconds before slowing to a trickle.

“Take him back,” said Jessie.

Elise didn’t need to be told twice. Still overflowing with divine aether of her own, she bent down and put her own hand on Jag, taking him back into Astrid’s Star. As soon as he vanished, Jessie sighed with relief and slid into a seated position.

“What happened?” asked Elise.

“His soul is… super damaged.”

[CGE] 87 - Demon Queen Yona

<AUTHOR'S NOTE>

The Royal Road readers pointed out that I forgot to upgrade Yona's Taker of Names title when she killed Menyar (the big piggy). Taker of Names II is now Taker of Names III, as it should have been. I haven't edited the Patreon chapters to reflect that yet, but future chapters will show that. That is all.
