Slideshow player: Score based image duration

Slideshow player: Proper volume & brightness sliders

The HTML based slideshow generator received a new update with a few goodies. I'm hoping it helps this seemingly overlooked project gain more traction and users now that it's more feature complete.

Cycles-X is awesome!

Took a look at the Blender 3.0.0 Alpha, hopefully to be released before the end of 2021. It contains the new Cycles-X render engine, pretty much a remake of Cycles from scratch using a more modern code base. The improvements it has are significant: Less render times per sample, more quality with fewer samples when denoising, and there's now even an option to set a time limit for your renders which will be extremely handy! Beach scene test renders, night

Night shots, the most beautiful in my opinion. This is achieved by blending a second Nishita sky for the moon on top of the sun's at a far lower intensity. The stars are produced using a voronoi texture to obtain the random little dots, contrasted then piped into a blackbody temperature node to get the proper color... they also scroll across the sky over time to simulate the Earth spinning. Beach scene test renders, day

Some test renders from the new beach scene at various times of day. Very pleased with the result, albeit I feel it could be even more realistic and needs more work. Thinking of turning this into a full landscape with trees and mountains and so on, depends on how well a standard computer can handle that amount of detail.

About what went on in the Darkplaces engine community, how this affects VoreTournament

Found some energy lying around to talk about this one here: The whole thing was a big drain on me in the moment, to the point where I had issues sleeping the night it took place. The Dark Mod augmentation addon items

Figured I'd show some progress on the player damage / augmentation mod I'm working on for TheDarkMod. The plugin is still in development with a few things left to do but it's getting there. Once ready it will allow TDM players to enhance their character with various upgrades (similar to DeusEx) further paving the way for the cyberpunk modification I've been dreaming about creating for this game. It's one of the first Blender animations I'm making which will be semi automated, meaning I animate keyframes for a handful of modifiers to blend between poses rather than animating the character rigs manually: This should make production a lot easier... of course it only works for simple actions thus isn't a technique that can be used for every film.

The next update is here! I consider the damage component as finished as it gets, it should be mainly bug fixes and minor tweaks from here. The Dark Mod: Per limb damage, skill system

I created an addon that implements detailed player functionality, inspired by the first DeusEx game (The Conspiracy). It's NOT a mission script but an addon, meaning you place the pk4 in your TDM directory to enable the system and it will automatically work in each and every FM. Note that due to using tdm_user_addons.script / user_addon_init() it may disable or get disabled by other addons you have installed... this is a design limitation which can hopefully be lifted at some point in the fut...
