Black and White

Last week I worked as a model at the event where photorgaphers show up and shoot for their portfolio, so this week I am receiving pictures they took that day. Photographers were very different levels, different visions, it is quite interesting to see how the same person (in this case, me) can be portrayed and look so different in front of other's lenses. 

We know my black and white is muted, grainy, film vibe, here is something different this time - very contrast, I remember a few ...

Self-portait series inspired by one of the most precious thing I have at home - my piano, that my parents brought me all the way from Russia, so I have a sense of home (back in 2012 when I just moved to the US)

Tonight the world becomes smaller

It almost became a tradition of me taking self-portraits on my little yet so dear to me x100v. There is something in hotels that makes me see things a bit more cinematic than usual, perhaps, it's a horizontal way of shooting as I do not travel with the tripod and normally use nothing but pillows to hold the camera. Hope you enjoy the series. I spent tremendous amount of time on this colors

But the room is not quite mine, and I’m not quite in the room. I am elsewhere, places where only my mind can take it. Working on Dubai series but I believe I’ll be able to edit it once I’m on the plane or home, as it’s quite hard to do while ok vacation with family. I’m flying back in a few days. Stay well, friends. Hope everyone is doing alright?

Rainy day

Hi friends, I finally made it to Dubai. I will edit one very special series exclusively for patreon some time this week, once im all settled. I travel every year for my birthday to see parents, who live far away from me, and we can see each other on a neutral territory. Last year turkey, this year Dubai. I took my little x100v with me. Let’s see what kind of photographer my mom is! :)

Coming back from Cambridge

I've been wanting to shoot at this station for the longest time possible. Only thing was missing - Charlotte, my model that could not fit more perfectly than she did. I spent so much time trying to see which 10 of these to fit into my post, but was wondering, which one would you choose, and which one first? 

Eucalyptus Lady

I was passing by the flower market this morning when I saw this eucalyptus calling my name. I have been always loving the shadows it creates and the settle grey-green tones it has, like a perfect plant for the painting, yet I painted with Fuji

Creating with Erin O'Hara is something that always feel organic, smooth and it is literally nothing but capturing a moment of two women spending their afternoon in Brooklyn with a little Fuji and and linen

Brooklyn Daylight

Yesterday I had an hour boudoir session with a client at this gorgeous boho studio. Many of you might have recognized the space (I have a high volume series to edit with Erin O'Hara from this studio that we have shot just recently). Brooklyn warehouse building with big floor to ceiling windows let the light penetrate the space through the whole day. Bushwick is just blessed with so many lofts like that.
