Yesterday I had an hour boudoir session with a client at this gorgeous boho studio. Many of you might have recognized the space (I have a high volume series to edit with Erin O'Hara from this studio that we have shot just recently). Brooklyn warehouse building with big floor to ceiling windows let the light penetrate the space through the whole day. Bushwick is just blessed with so many lofts like that. I did not plan to shoot anything for myself that day, however, when I finished my work with the client - I could not resist.

Considering the fact I did not have a tripod with me as, again, I did not plan to shoot any self-portraits, I was resting on the floor, looking through the pictures of the client, when I noticed how soft the light Is right here - on the edge of the sofa. It took another minute to realize my skin is the same tone as the sofa (at least, more or less) - the harmony has established itself. I placed a mirror in front of me ( it is a heavy, solid metal mirror frame that feels like deadlift to move it around) The rest - is a moment, captured moment of a resting on the edge of the sofa woman, in her skin, charging herself in the daylight rays like a cat, that is lazily turning around near the window, warming up different sides of that lazy Sunday skin.
