In researching Project 971, I have have come across some stunning stories.  One of which is when Prime Minister Putin (2009) visited a shipyard and told them Russia did not order this submarine, Russia is not paying for it.

This lecture will be finished after Thanksgiving. It's taking a lot of time to get all these facts verified and dig out little gems like this story.

For the month of November, I will be doing a Sub Brief on the Soviet Union's first Nuclear Attack Submarine; NATO name November.  This is the one that started it all.  The Soviet Union's first attempt at an air independent, high speed, long deployment, submarine attack platform with one mission:  Catch and Kill NATO carrier fleets.

Had a wonderful time yesterday as a guest aboard HMS Northumberland.  Thank you, Jess for the very detailed tour of a Royal Navy ASW platform.  Truly, a very capable ship and one that every submarine should respect at a distance.... a very long distance.  I had a great time.
