September Shift to Asia

Kirov Modernization Ship Brief (audio fixed)

Fixed the audio issue.

Updated for the Admiral Nakhimov modernization and new capabilities of the Peter Velikiy, the last of the Kirov-class. As of 2024, the modernized versions, notably Admiral Nakhimov and Pyotr Velikiy, feature extensive upgrades to their weaponry and electronics.

Abraham Lincoln CVN-72 CSG Pacific Transit

CVN 72, currently under 7th Fleet command, is on its way to the 5th Fleet for deployment. Currently West of Guam, transiting South China Sea and eventually into the Indian Ocean. Expected to participate in convoy escorts near Yemen. (not confirmed)

Taiwan Troops Training at Camp Grayling, Michigan

I stumbled across something unexpected this month. My wife's military ID was due to be replaced/updated and the closest military base is Camp Grayling, Michigan.

We get there, it's very small base facility area, just a few buildings in the middle of 'No-Where' Michigan. But, it is surrounded by 148,000 acres of woodland, lakes and firing ranges used for Joint Military training.

Columbia SSBN Delayed 16 months but on *budget

As promised, I am following the development of of the Columbia-class SSBN program. The latest report is the first hull will be delivered 16 months late, but at a slightly lower estimated Unit Cost.

This is R&D and Procurement cost.*
