Squad battles are hard. Trying to keep track of where everyone is and what they're doing at any given moment is hard. Trying to write two squads facing off, even when one of them is only a team of two, is hard.
Ugh. I did my best, I even cheated a little. And I know how I ended this chapter isn't super satisfying, but I wanted to leave it that way.

Yeah, I liked this chapter. Aife got to show off some more, and I introduced one of the guys that is going to make the run on the United Empire much harder than canon was. Two, technically, but one was only namedropped.
Don't feel too bad if you didn't recognize him. I tried to give hints without being super explicit about it, even though Caesar gives part of his name at the end.

Well, I didn't get quite as far as I intended to this chapter, or rather, because I thought it would be way too fast paced if I tried to get there, I changed the title and let the characters breathe a little here.
This chapter sets up a few surprises for the coming chapters, but I won't be surprised if most people miss the hints, they're pretty subtle.

Not too much happens, this chapter. It's more setup to lead us into getting to Rome and Nero, plus a few other things, so it's not as action packed as the last few chapters. That doesn't mean it's pointless, though.
