Implementing custom blurbs has turned out to be way more of a pain than I was originally anticipating. And I was already anticipating for them to be a pretty big pain. Hey there, everyone. Time for another devlog update on CCC!

So, the game is in an interesting spot right now. In a good way. As many of you all already know, a major reason 0.6 has taken so long is because of all the code refactoring I've had to do. It's essentially remaking 90% of the game at this point.

The good news is that almost every system that needs to be refactored, has been refactored... I think. We're past the largest hill at this point. Right now development is mainly ...

Hey, how's it going?

Another day, another devlog. Time to fill you in on what's been going on lately!

Stores in the game are getting a bit of an overhaul. You no longer have to endure a loading screen whenever you want to visit a store. The "locations" tab in your main menu has been replaced with a "shop" tab, which opens up the shop UI immediately on your screen. Along with tabs at the bottom to switch between other shops instantly. Think of it like how the shops work in Splatoon...

So... Unity, eh?

Let's cut straight to the chase. If you're not aware of recent events, long story short: Unity introduced some asinine new policies/pricing, and is now facing a lot of (justified) backlash from game developers from all over the internet. Many have already made the choice to switch to other engines. If you want to know more, the information is out there.

Chub Chomp Chill is also made in Unity.

I'm personally not affected monetarily by Unity's new pricing sche...

State of the Game - August 22, 2023

Hey there, everyone! Here with another Chub Chomp Chill update.

After months and months of refactoring, I'm happy to say that the game is finally playable again.

...but it's not quite done yet.

There's still a fair number of things to be done before it's ready to ship. But it should go by way faster now, at least.

As far as progress goes, the most recent thing I've done is the new save system. This system makes a separate save file for each individual citizen....
