Battle Chasers 10 Page 01

If anyone doesn't know Battle Chasers, it ended on a cliffhanger, since the artist basically gave up - it took 16 months between issues 7 and 8, for example.

I referenced this in my last post, so we'll see how it goes.  I feel like I just figured out something pretty damn important in my coloring process - AFTER having posted the colored Sailor Moon image - so I'll just do my best.  Sorta kinda try to mimic Joe Madureira's style, though I'm easily prone to return to my regular...

I'm not going to finish this.  I just wanted to try out a few coloring techniques.

One idea I have is sort of a continuation of Battle Chasers.  I would try to mimic Joe Madureira's style - very much NOT this drawing style.

Issue 9 left off with a beat up Red Monika in the care of Garrison, with some baddies hanging around outside.

Perhaps Garrison's load is exactly what Monika needs to recharge, and then together, they fight their way out of their predicament?

I sort of randomly decided to go with Sailor Moon by Googling "popular anime".  This is going to be the main blond chick - with a huge cock - fucking the green haired girl - with huge tits.

I know not everyone loves (or likes) futa, but I do like to experiment with different things here and there to see if I strike a cord with the general audience.

Superman and Powergirl Page 01 Update 05

It's coming along very nicely!  I'm really enjoying the process of using Clip Studio Paint, since I think when a background is done with 3D models, it's pretty obvious.  I like that I didn't use 3D models.  

Once these 3 panels are done, I'm going to knock out a pinup - just to keep the flow of H-F updates coming somewhat regularly.  Comic pages take a long time, but to me, they're a lot more fulfilling.

Starting a new comic, based on a story I saw on H-F.  

Clark is checking for life with X-Ray vision in panel 1.  He's not lasering people like Homelander.  LOL.

I'm calling this one done.  Earlier than I had anticipated.

I feel like I could have found a way to punch up the metal, and I still need to work on the rendering of "bodily fluids" , but it's alright.  :)

I am feeling like doing some kind of comic page next.  There is a story on H-F that I found, which I think would make for a nice 7 or 8 page comic.  More than that, and I fear I'll run out of steam.  Haha.

Finally, my two recent images - Jubilee/Iceman, and He-Man and Teela were approved and put up on H-F.  Goodness.  I hope they put me back on auto-approve soon!  That's ridiculous!

Clip Studio Paint (Pro)

Photoshop on the iPad was frustrating the hell out of me, so I decided to give Clip Paint Studio Pro a try.  The name makes it sound like some stupid amateur clip art program, so I avoided it.  But pros use it, and it actually looked like the best program for me - at least on the iPad.

Already, after 5 minutes, I'm so glad I got it.  I just canceled my Photoshop subscription - $9.99/mo for PS vs $25/yr for CPSP?  No brainer.

The picture with the most favorites on H-F is futa Wonder Woman fucking Powergirl.  So, how about reversing that, and having a futa Powergirl fucking Wonder Woman?

Iceman and Jubilee V2

I've added some juices, and colored Iceman's left leg, which I'd forgotten earlier.  And I think I added a bit of blue bounce light to Jubilee's neck since the last version.  

I thought about window curtains, but nah.  I'll just leave it be.

No, in my opinion, Iceman is straight.  Angel would be much more likely to not be. IMO.

I'm not sure what's going on with Hentai-Foundry, but the two most recent images I've uploaded are still in the queue, waiting for approval.  Batman is north of 3 days.  He-Man is 2 days, and I'd been on auto approve for the longest time.

Um....hello?

H-F has me in their approval queue for some reason, so you guys are getting an early look at what's coming!

Here's to hoping the new Revelations cartoon isn't a trojan horse for more identity politics.

I have nothing against Teela or women.  I love them!!  But give her her own show if it's going to be about Teela, like is feared.  Don't call it He-Man and then push him aside.

No change to the hair yet, obviously.  But I do think the black robe looks better.

Mostly, this was a coloring and technique test.  

It's a little scary to not work so carefully with layers, but then again, I think it's a lot more colorful, and I just need to commit to a color scheme and go with it.

I think a black robe would have looked better.  I might still change it at some point.  I just didn't want to lose all of the work I did inking it.  Haha.

I am going to refine the drawing, as I was kind of in a hurry.  Mostly, I was interested in the coloring.

I purchased one of Calm's tutorials on Gumroad (no voiceover) and although I will never be that good, or do his style, I do like to see other artist's process to see if I can pick up something here or there.

We'll see how this one goes.  *fingers crossed*

Working on the blockout of the environment.  I don't know which angle I'll use yet, and it won't be much more detailed than what you see.  I'll add more shape to the couches, since that's where they'll be fucking.  But other than that, it's just a really simple 3D environment for perspective purposes, and kind of...helping to figure out where the camera will be.

I'll of course pose the characters on the couch, as well.

X-Men: Fearless Leader Update 03

I couldn't leave it alone as pencils.  I had to go in and add those micro ink details - at 600dpi, no less!

But hey, I think it looks pretty sweet!

As for Harry Potter....it's set in the Slytherin Common Room, and I'm building a simple 3D model of the environment, so it'll be another day or two before I start drawing it.  But work is being done!!  :)

I was in the process of coloring "normal" style, and wasn't really liking it. It didn't feel organic - and I couldn't find Calm's brush set, so I loaded Sakimichan's.  And found THE BEST BRUSH EVER.

Haha.  Okay, I don't know about that.  It reminds me a lot of a custom brush I had in Corel Painter, though.  And I loved that brush so much!  Sometimes I'm sad that I don't use Painter anymore.

X-Men: Fearless Leader Page 02 Layout

I'm going to break out the old 3D Mannequin models for the commissions, just to make them a little better than I could do without pose reference, so in the meantime, while I don't have access to them, I sketched out the second page of the X-Men comic.

Again, I'm focusing on being more creative with the panel layouts.

Tomorrow, I should, hopefully, start the commissions.

Stupid Girl Page 01 Layout

I was thinking about the page layouts, and wanted to work on actively being more creative in how I'm going about designing and arranging the panels.

I'll probably experiment with it on X-Men Page 02, as well.  

Evil Becky

Another thing that may be coming down the pike is a comic I'm developing with the Kryptonian Resolution and X-Men writer, Mobofair.  I don't have a script yet, and it may be many months away.

But here is a sneak peek at a character design I'm working on for one of the villains.

Her name is Becky.  It's based on the whole Karen and Becky memes.  Becky in particular is from the classic rap intro "Baby Got Back".
