Halo + Overwatch Alternate #1

Started the tutorial

I started recording the Halo + Overwatch alternate version this evening.  I'm speaking softly, not to put anyone to sleep, but because I'm doing this at night and don't want to wake people up.   I'll hope to get feedback as I go.

I did watch the video, and the volume seemed fine.  

I'm considering recording all of my art with that sleepy ASMR style lounge voice-over.  May be worth the $10 more than just one pinup or panel.  Haha.

Hey guys!  TGIF, right?

The good news though, is that I've been playing around with OBS - a free (and very popular) screen recording/streaming program, and I'm going to record the process of the alternate version of The Rookie + Sombra.  With voiceover!

July Changes (Superman Comics)

Hey all,

I decided to drill down on my H-F gallery, to see what may get me the best return on my time and effort.

BY FAR, the Superman & Black Canary comic has the most views.  

I prefer telling stories, and I think people prefer me to do sequential work.  There are much much better pinup guys than me, anyway.

Iron Man and Wasp

I don't actually have any $8 patrons, so if I have time at the end of the month, I'll do a Tony Stark variant.  Sure, the $30 tier covers it, so I will do it, but it'll be at the end.

Next up is finishing the Halo + Overwatch pinup.

After that, I will finish up page 6 of Kryptonian Resolution.

Then, I have my other $30 tier commission.

It's gonna be a tight one to finish all of this, but I have two weeks.  *fingers crossed*

Kryptonian Resolution Page 06 Update 03

I'm finally settled in at my destination after a really long trip.  Wow.  I'll probably be driving back to California again in a month or two, but I won't concern myself much with that right now.

So here is a bit of an update to page 6.  I'm trying really hard to improve the colors.

The Halo/Overwatch picture and this will proceed simultaneously, most likely.

Soul Saga Color Thoughts

On these two pages, it's a pretty obvious color scheme of orange, yellow, and green, which are all next to each other on the color wheel.  There's almost no blue, and the reds are very desaturated.

Interestingly enough, the color theory ebook/pdf I got earlier in the week had a bunch of mood swatches (5 for each), and one was "earthy", though I'm going to call it the mango swatch set.  I didn't save all of the swatches, but most of them.

Moving --> Few Days AFK

Hey guys,

Tomorrow (Wednesday, anyway), I'll be cleaning and boxing up everything in my apartment, and preparing for a 30-hour drive.  I won't arrive at my destination until Saturday or Sunday, and let's just assume I won't be able to work on anything new until Monday.

Shazam and Captain Marvel

I put this one on H-F because I wasn't happy with the Black Adam version, quite honestly.

I basically recolored 60-70% of it, after having "studied" some Liquid! colors.

I think I've made a breakthrough, though don't pass judgment based on this image.  :D

Forgive me for the delay on the "video game-themed" image that I mentioned.  I was too far along with this one first, and I was really keen to try some things with the coloring.

Desaturating the colors as they move away from the camera, and also making them more blue.  I was trying to go for a sort of depth of field look.  I was even conscientious of how many light and dark layers were used, depending on how close or far away from the camera something is.  I'd added ...

This one is actually pretty similar to the futa Supergirl/Harley Quinn that I have on H-F, but it is one of my most popular images, so it could be worse.  Hehe.

Although the sketch includes curly hair for the woman, I'm leaning right now towards making her Captain Marvel, since there's sort of the whole Shazam/Captain Marvel thing.

Color Practice

Something I did this morning to test out some coloring ideas.  It's actually the same base color, with different hues for the lights, darks, and bounce, working off different swatches that I made, based on a chapter from a color theory book I found.

Top left --> earthy

Top right --> cold

Bottom left --> warm

Bottom right --> romantic

June Pinups

I spent most of yesterday watching tutorials on color theory, looking at some comics, and re-coloring parts of things.  As I mentioned some time ago, I feel like I have a solid technique for colors, but still am unsure of which colors to choose and why.  

I mean, I have a better idea now!
