It was a job in Elversult gone horribly wrong. We had been hired to stop a smuggling ring within the underbelly of the town. The syndicate had been using the Axe and Hammer as their base of operations for quite some time and we had gotten tipped off that an exchange would be going down. We had gone undercover, trying to get into one of the worse crime rings of the Dragon Coast. Nic insisted that I stand watch while he handle the situation underneath. I kept watch, having faith that he would smooth things over with little issue. Little did I know, it ended up being the worst set up. The Syndicate had been played by the Unapproachable East. They took hostages and brought them out and around to where it would be far more presentable. I heard unnatural movement and picked up on Nic's accelerated heartbeat. They had gotten to him, looking to make an example of him as if he were just another syndicate nobody. When I arrived, things were already bad; bodies lined up and already some dead. That didn't matter to me though. I needed to get to Bossman. I needed to see if he was alright.

When I saw their silhouettes, I thought I was too late. They had cut into him and I heard his scream. I lost it. That's when it first happened. When I....became the beast. They all thought it was some act of Aumanator; believing that his light had left them. All I remember was the wet, pasty and goopy insides of thugs and whoever else was there at the time. When the dust settled, I felt like I had lost everything. I saw Nic and saw movement, seeming lost in a rage. He just looked like another body at that point. I recall I trudged over to him, ready to end him as I had did the others...but I stopped. His voice got to me. I felt...I felt so much fear at that moment. Fear of what I had become. Fear of what I could do. It was an awful feeling. I had become the monster so many people believed I was.
