Jim's military service was more than just a "hitch", but unlike some, he doesn't talk about it much.

Shooting a sadistic super-villain with a cannon is like planting seeds: You never know what will sprout as a result, further down the timeline. When Scotman lit that fuse, he didn't see free donuts coming!

For the sarcasm impaired: X-ray specs has heard that joke many, many times before. And in the last panel, he means that if you fly around while invisible, you could have a mid-air collision with another flying superhero who can't see you coming in time to dodge.

Such barter is a way of life in Faltown. A Puritan type might see it as corruption, but most of the natives see it as fair trade.

Despite my best efforts, page five of "Turnabout" is just not ready. So here's the third and final page of "Perverts" to stand in for it.
In my defense, the big illustration project people have finally gotten back to me with another script for an illustrated legal guide. I already took their money, so that gets high priority on the "to-do" list. I got three comix multi-page commissions waiting, two big color pics, and Here there be Dragons. Not to mention the Condensed...

You never know how tough you REALLY are until you're put to the test. It seems Anna can handle it.

Mink has accepted she can't save them all. Were she to even try, that way doth madness lie. But that still doesn't make it easy to tell a crying, doomed child that there's nothing you can do for them.
As for the Torch of Liberty....little pleasures that you take for granted might be rare luxuries for others. We are not all the same, thankfully.

If I was the parent of a kid that looked to be wheelchair-bound for the rest of her short life - and I heard of a magician a couple towns over who would be performing miracle cures for ONE NIGHT ONLY? Hell yeah, I'd strap rockets to myself if that's what it took to get there in time.

This is from later in the Mink's career, where she must beware Manhattan syndrome.

Alas, events have caught up to me, and this week's page of Turnaround is just not ready. Standing in for Harri and Selma is another horse/canine pair, albeit with the genders swapped. Hope it'll hold ya until next week.

This is not Herman's first rodeo. But it is Anna's first up-close encounter with lethal violence. Not something a kind-hearted sort like her can easily shrug off.

I've had the thought many a time when reading super-hero comics: "That power would be useful for SO many more things than fighting other super-goobers!"

The hospital staff are understandably nervous about letting a bunch of hungover metas (whose idea of fun is to dress up in circus costumes and pick fights with other super-powered lunatics) so close to their patients. But the kids do so love the super-show, so the staff can't say no. But they provide LOTS of adult supervision. And to be fair, many of the staff don't want to miss the show, either.
But here's a performer who's magic trick is to make the kids' injuries di...

The top panel of this page was one of the first images of Herman Orca ever drawn, something like thirty-one years ago. And now, the story has finally rolled around to where it appears. This is one of the many reasons I love Patreon.

Because, well, the utility companies, the grocery store, my doctor, et cetera....they don't care how much fun I have drawing this stuff, the joy of art, and all that. They just want to get paid.
