Well, here's another rule I sometimes forget.
Dark colours look good on the screen, but they turn out too dark on the printed page.
Therefore we need to imply darkness and remember that colour conext is based on other colours on the same page.
Here's an example of implied darkness -- you can see it's night, but the darkest hue behind Lu has 25% of black (K)*:

Comic colorists can use complementary* colour palettes to separate locations.
For example on the page below I have used cold, blue-ish hue for outdoors and warm, yellow-ish hue for indoors. Not only these two locations are now visually separated, it also helps me to establish the mood. 2020-04-21 07:30:00 +0000 UTC
