Ultimate Level 1 - Book 8 - Chapter 416 - Going All In

We have two air skills. One is for Elemental Mastery, and the other is for Wind Control.  Do you still not feel that those would provide us the best chance to succeed with that core? It’s why we saved it for the last out of everything.

He could sense Bob considering this topic again, unsure of which direction his skill would go about this topic. There was an element of excitement similar to the one he felt coming through their bond.  Yet, at the same time, it was on...

Ultimate Level 1 - Book 8 - Chapter 415 - Crafting Decisions

Max tried to stop smiling as he and Buwingrid worked on the different parts of the weapon he had asked her to craft.

She hadn’t been very excited to learn that he had two legendary weapon crafting skills, one of which she possessed, but hers was a lower rank.

He of course had been surprised to learn how many she possessed and the ranks of hers.

So this is another one of those world questions I’ll one day find out.

How do som...

Max shifted under the gaze of the woman he hoped would help him.  She didn’t appear very happy when he walked into her shop, but he at least hadn’t been kicked out for now.

“You do realize how difficult you have made my life… every day I have some fool come in here, asking me to create something for them like what you had.  Gone are the easy days of getting only one or two absurd requests every month or so. Now I must deal with it at least twice or thrice a week! A WEE...

Max found himself in the box he had spent so much time in.  Glancing at the section of the stone wall against which he had ended Ezreal’s life, he forced himself to calm down.

Time seemed to tick by, and then after a good fifteen minutes a section of the wall began to move.

“Max?”

“Quilazmore, it’s been too long,” he replied, watching the dark elf slowly enter the room.

“We were expecting you in the throne room at first, but I told Lord Kazrak that y...

Max’s sonar picked up the moving shapes the second his group appeared in the safe room he had designated for when he would return.

Aerthen began to react, as did Rakonath, both dragons sensing those with weapons drawing close.

“Stop!”

As his eyes focused and Max allowed his sonar to tell him everything it could, he sensed the walls of air, earth, ice, and fire that had formed around them, creating a protective barrier.

Wanting to curse for being a fool and not we...

“So you’re leaving again?”

Ignoring his sister’s frown and tone, Max nodded, choosing instead to tickle and play with Callie, who was babbling a little bit and cooing in response to his actions.

“Part of adventuring is that you will always be headed somewhere.  You have the advantage of being in this capital and that there are enough dungeons you don’t have to ever leave. Most adventurers don’t have the coin or family for such an endeavor like this and often hav...

Ultimate Level 1 - Book 8 - Chapter 410 - Book 8 Recap

Wew. Some of us had a hard time with book 7 after book 6. One was so focused on fighting and power grinding, while the other was built around figuring out what was taking place on Max’s world.

With book 7 we learned a few things.

Someone, no one knows who right now, is playing a game that involves multiple gods and worlds.  While many thought Phaius was an evil god bent on destruction and more, we’ve learned that isn’t necessarily the case anymore.

Ultimate Level 1 - Book 7 - Chapter 408 - A Gift Forged for Two

Max moved to where Dagon and Velda stood, both of them smiling.

“It is rare for a moment like this to take place, but after some discussion, my husband and I decided that a moment like this shouldn’t be passed up.”

Her and the King moved around the forge and pulled out ornate metal chairs, each carved with runes and set with gems, blue ones in Fowl’s and red ones in Batrire’s.

“Sit, and watch what is about to take place for the two of you.”

Max watched as Fowl fidgeted next to him.

“You’ll be fine. Just hold still or I swear you’re going to make a scene in all that armor.”

“I’m sweating… in places I shouldn’t be,” Fowl muttered. “It’s not that hot, I’m just–”

“Nervous?”

A grin appeared on his dwarven friend as he bobbed his head.

“So many people. I mean… five hundred? Maybe more?”

Max nodded and looked out across the great hall they were in.   View Post

“So… how did it go?” Max asked.

Fowl grunted and shrugged.

“We’ll find out tomorrow. For now we need to finish up a few last things and I’d rather not dwell upon that problem. Did you get what I asked for?”

A stone box appeared in Max’s hand and he held it out for his friend.

Taking it, Fowl opened it and let out a low whistle.

“It’s better than I hoped. Thank you.”

Nodding, he took it back when the warrior handed it to him and stored ...

“We need to hurry,” Fowl said as his pickaxe hewed another chunk of stone from the rock. “We’ve only got two more days before the wedding and I’ve not found anything worth giving Batrire yet.”

Max snorted and glanced over his shoulder, looking down the tunnel they had created and watching the line of dwarfs who were carting off the stone they had freed from their day of mining.

How much stone have we moved and all of the ore we found so far isn’t one ...

Monday Update

Hey all - Don't forget that the 13th is the end of book 7!

That also means 1 week off (cuz I'm mean) until book 8 starts on the 20th.

Been a crazy few weeks. Finally got the insurance side of a house flooding problem (cold weather / burst pipe / 1/2 the house) resolved and now on to getting the house put back in order. You don't realize how much a bathroom means until its out of commission. Now time to get all the sheetrock patched and stuff fixed.

That went about as well as I hoped it might. It appears that your stats were beyond anything it could handle.

Well, that combination is extremely potent. You and I both know it still isn’t much compared to those with real power, though part of me is glad to know that my body is stronger than whatever metal the boss was made of with that skill.

Even if it hadn’t been, your new regeneration would have easily taken care of your legs.

“What’s happening?” Batrire asked, a bit of concern in her voice.

As she spoke the platform they were on started to rise as the thick cables began to move.

“We’re in a tower floor and somewhere up there is a race from another world,” Max replied, his weapon and shield out, turning in a circle to see what was going to appear when they reached the top.

“How do you know that!?”

All five of them stood next to the chest that had appeared.

Book 8 Uploaded

Ok - wanted to give a quick update on book 8 as I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off.

Book 8 starts on March 20th and Ends May 18th (I believe - book 8 hits amazon June 2nd - not sure). book 9 will start up after that probably a week later.

I've been writing book 9 and got 11 chapters done so far. Someone asked me how long book 9 will be and my answer was 'no clue'.

I've got a lot of stuff to wrap up for the story with promises that have been mad...

Hard to believe that March 13th book 7 ends!

Even harder to know you'll have to wait till the 20th for book 8 to start!

The moment Max entered the thick metal doors that led into the actual forge, he couldn’t wipe away the smile that had formed even if offered a thousand gold.

Multiple chairs had been pulled up in a circle and Dagon sat in his chair, slightly larger than the rest and was downing his fourth tankard of his private brew.

He could taste the difference, having tried Batrire’s father's. Unlike all the other alcohol he had consumed, this one didn’t leave any kind of aftertaste and was smoother than water.

Next to Fowl, his parents both sat there, his father now awake, neither having said a word.
