BTtNR Update

I had two people reach out and ask so I figured more might be wondering the same thing.

Book 2 is scheduled through August 2nd.

I have more chapters but at this moment and time, I have 5x a week through the end of the month.

So don't worry, unless I'm somehow delayed in Zambia for a long time, the chapters will continue to come for a while (and i'm still typing more).

I just wanted to drop a line, letting you all know that you need not fear a pause :)<...

Patreon - Weird stuff

I just posted chapter 163 of UL1 (1st chapter of book 4).

It appears chapters are 'randomly' vanishing occasionally on Patreon.

No answer why... even a few other authors have had this.

So - ignore post if you don't need.

If you found a chapter for something missing let me know!

Ultimate Level 1 - Chapter 163 - The Path Ahead

The four of them stood there smiling, ignoring the expression on Everett’s face.

“You couldn’t help yourselves, could you?”

As one they burst out laughing, shaking their heads.

“We only killed about a hundred or so,” Fowl said. It’s not like we felt we were in danger.”

“You hear that Everett? Not in danger,” Tom said, a frown on his face since they announced what they had done.  “It’s not like the tower can be that dangerous.”

“It...

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 59 - Everyone Wants To Use Him

“You need to open up your eyes and focus, Einar.”

Blinking, he did just that, sitting up. As the light of the room allowed things to come into view, he saw a lanky, fiery-red-haired man lounging on the stone floor near him. His lips were cracked, and a scar ran along his face.

“What… where… who are you?”

Laughter that reminded him too much like Arngrim echoed in the tiny room he was lying on the stone floor.  No doors were present and even without a source o...

Ultimate Level 1 - 205 - No Way Out

The walls of the ice castle hid the vastness and dangerous side of the boss floor behind it.

Like the minotaur and werewolf tower floor, a town was laid out with streets cut from shaped ice and buildings over seventy feet tall, blocking their vision as cold shadows cast upon them.

“It’s as if they replicated a normal town but amplified everything,” Fowl pondered aloud, stepping through the forty-foot-thick opening in the ice wall. What could be the plan here?”<...

Ultimate Level 1 - 204 - Boss Floor Blues

The moment they started moving down the ramp that led to the portal in and out of the tower floor, a light snow began to fall.

Each of them groaned slightly as the viewing distance decreased to about half.

“Three of them,” Fowl said, pointing at the three blue giant creatures before them.  Each wore some chain armor and carried massive clubs.  Long white beards ran down to their chests, and blue horns jutted out of the white hair on their heads. Their blu...

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 58 - Upgrading Odin’s Tools

Bior watched in silence as Einar held the rune.

The stone had turned white, and each of the symbols that had been etched and filled with elemental energy and wyrd glowed. Eventually, they would stop, but the first day or two after creation, a rune was flooded with power.

“It’s vibrating slightly,” Einar said as he turned it over, running his fingers along the symbol for lightning.  “How… how strong is this?”

Arngrim took a deep breath and let it out, his sho...

Ultimate Level 1 - 203 - Blue Balls

“That is so smooth,” Tom said with a soft sigh.  “We should definitely have him tell us more things like this.”

All three of them laughed as they took their time, sipping the vintage the Faction leader almost never shared.

“I can’t really have word get out that you are making legendary weapons,” Everett said slowly as he spun his glass on the desk.  “Which means Joshua is still going to need to be the one making them.”

“Sorry,” M...

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 57 - Watching a Master Work

Einar and Bior stood as close as Arngrim would allow them, the rune crafter holding the flame crystal in his closed left fist.

A thin metal rod, which Arngrim had never explained what it was made of, touched the rune he had carved and inlaid with metal on the stone.

Fire, alive and dancing, seemed to swirl around the older man’s hand as it shook. The tip of the sharp metal tool, now a beacon of red energy, traced the rune. The flames around his hand, like a chorus of...

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 56 - A Rune for Einar

Two days had passed since Arngrim had started the process of etching runes onto the stone.  Occasionally, Einar needed a break from the room. The smell and need for freedom forced him to leave for a few hours.

Returning after a small walk, he turned the corner of the hallway that led to where he would hole up again for another night.  There outside it stood a man he could spot a long distance away.

“You shouldn’t know I’m here,” Einar told Thorodd who was waiting...

Ultimate Level 1 - 202 - The Problem of Secrets

Everett sat behind his desk while Tom fumed silently.

Dexic didn’t hide her displeasure at being ordered before everyone, her and Tom both having had a few harsh words aimed at each other on the trip here.

Tanila and the rest of his party had confused looks, wondering what had happened and why the man they knew had a reputation for being harsh sometimes was acting completely pissed off.

“Tom, breathe and tell me why our two most prominent members are currently sitting ac...

“We need to go,” Arngrim said after he had taken a few deep breaths as the carriage rolled along the stone streets. “Tell the man you need to go outside the wall and find somewhere else to stay tonight.  He’ll take us there, and then I’ll give him some money.  After that, we make haste for the docks and leave tonight.”

“You’re certain this is the best choice? What about Runa and Grani?”

Striding toward him was the woman who always wore gold armor, except at this moment, she wore just standard leather gear. Her hair was back in a small braid behind her, and Max tried to remember if it had always been blond.

Those blue eyes of hers were sprinkling, excited at what she was about to get to do.

“Seth! You have grown!” she exclaimed, delivering a massive slap to his left arm.  “I finally get a chance to meet you after all this time!”

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 54 - Insulting a Dwarf

Einar couldn’t believe how much the market square reminded him of a farmers' market, except that it was done in a renaissance-style theme.

Stalls made out of poles and cloth-covered tarps were everywhere. Boxes, tables and more were filled with an assortment of items in each stall.

Some had ore or other metals ready to be purchased and used.

A few sold remedies and treatments that were supposed to help one get better faster when injured or cure ma...

Ultimate Level 1 - 200 - Training With Tom

“I don’t miss those tower floors,” Tom said as everyone sat at a table in the Faction dining area.

Eight massive tables with benches lined one section, while two long tables reserved for special events were pushed off at the far end, surrounded by fancy chairs.

Their trainer picked at a few pieces of meat while everyone else continued devouring the spiced meat over rice. Fresh fruit was stacked in bowls near them, and a server came by occasionally, offering more food or drin...

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 53 - The Problem Behind Walls

“It’s been a while Arn,” Grani said as he looked at the pair of Vikings sitting on the other side of his desk.

The man’s office was a mess with paperwork everywhere, dust and dirt and tons of boxes stuffed with cups, bottles and more.

Two lanterns cast a light that flickered in the room and Einar watched as both men stared at each other for a moment.

“You know I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t need to be.  Like you and your wife, I’m just trying to...

“And you are?” the healer asked.

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 52 - Finding Old Friends

Arngrim led Einar through the maze of streets.  They flowed in a similar hub and spoke style, but there were a lot of smaller circles that ran through the massive town.

Everywhere was a bustling crowd of people, moving things, selling, and buying, clamoring about.

What caught Einar’s eye the most was the limited number of tattoos he spotted.  Here in the city, it appeared most only had a single arm tattoo.  The warriors who were traveling were the only...

Nodding, Fowl grinned, pulling a stone from his storage and holding it out.

“This is why I carry them. To remind me of where I’m from.”

Battle Through the Nine Realms - Chapter 51 - Katanes

“She is right,” Arngrim said when Einar leaned against the edge of the ship.  “Lightning is a dangerous weapon and tool but often destructive.  Imagine what it can do to a foe, but what about an ally?”

“Does fire not spread just as easily?” Einar asked as he watched the older man study him.

Sighing, Arngrim nodded and scratched his chin.

“Fire is just as dangerous in some ways, but lightning can also burn one's soul, not just one's body,” Arngrim re...

Giving Back to Writers

After a conversation today, I realized there might be some writers out here or those who are wanting to write.

While I don't consider myself a pro, a god at it or anything beyond someone writing what he loves and trying to improve with each word I pen, I do want to always be there to help others who want to write.

So, if you want to write, are writing, etc and have any questions about it at all, post the question here.

There is also a discord where a lot of au...
