I was a couple of days away from home, so this weekly sneak peek comes with a slight delay. Yesterday we had a showcase post for Garfy's Hellblasters, tomorrow there'll be a formerly Aspect Warrior tier exclusive tutorial, and for the weekday I'll prepare a showcase and painting guide for my updated Nighthaunt paint scheme, to celebrate the preorder launch for Arena of Shades.

Old Citadel paints!

Look what I‘ve found on a Facebook group. Over 50 paints from the former Citadel paint range, all unused or in great condition. I knew I had to get these for a retro review and colour comparison. I might even make a video! Any questions or ideas what I could do with them? 😄

Arcane Ruins & Dominion of Sigmar

How are you doing? I finished my Alpha Legion test model, you can check it out over on Discord, so now I'm free to start something new. A while ago I assembled and primed these Dominion of Sigmar columns and fire bowls, as well as the baseplate from the old Arcane Ruins terrain set, which go really well together, but never got around painting them. No more! I made a good start drybrushing all the stonework, now I need to paint the magic flames, for which I want to use an airbrush.

Alpha Legion test model done

So, the Alpha Legion test model is done! It's a bit rough in some places, as I had to repaint a few areas multiple times until I was happy, but overall I quite like it. It was really fun to add all those garish 90s toys colours, very neon :D Let me know if you'd be interested in a tutorial for this scheme.

Guess I'm working next on the Dominion of Sigmar terrain I had sitting here primed for quite a while now.

Today we have a follow-up on my Kill Team: Nachmund Corsairs tutorial, check out this showcase of my Sector Mechanicus terrain that included painting guides to help you recreate my industrial grey and bronze paint scheme.

New hobby purchases

I'm sorry I can't post painting updates at the moment, but I'm allowed to post a few things on Saturday, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, check out my latest hobby purchases. I bough a few scale modelling items such as enamel washes, oil paints, a weathering set and sanding sponge from Tamiya, and another Ultra Matt varnish to test for my matt varnish guide. This year I wan't to learn more about scale modelling techniques and share my experiences with you :)

Yesterday we had another stunning Lumineth unit painted by Fizz, later this week we'll have a T'au showcase post by Garfy AND I'll finally drop my final Speedpaint review. I found out a lot of "interesting" things, there'll be good and bad. It'll hopefully be the most comprehensive Speedpaint review out there. I just need to finish the editing!

Exclusive Speedpaints Review video preview

So, I'm working hard on the Army Painter Speedpaints Review video, which will be my most ambitious video yet with over 13 minutes runtime and a lot of different shots and animations. I thought you would like to have a little preview before the video drops next video, it's my main issue with Speedpaints - the reactivation when you paint over them.
