I was in such a groove for this one that I was able to skip most of the tiedown and go straight into inking. Nice when things work out that way, saves a lot of time!

Wanted something different in between comics and commissions and decided to draw an obscure Sonic character in my style - here's my take on Bark! He ended up being really fun and surprisingly easy to draw.

It's always the quick pics that take the longest - it took me forever to come up with a sketch of Rory that felt on-model to the point where I think for once inking was quicker than sketching. The first few sketches weren't bad per se, but I kept looking at them and thinking "That's Eli"... the two are close but not that close.

Just wanted to give a quick update - unfortunately as of yesterday my total patreon pledges fell just under my first stretch goal, meaning - barring any surprise pledges today - the Lesser Than Three character image and retrospectives won't be happening this February. Something I haven't gotten to show in the comic proper yet is that Sy really likes rain. I was really excited about this idea until it hit me that I had to figure out how to draw rain and wet ground, but it all turned out really fun!

The Chronological Syrus: Part 1 - 2007 - 2014

Syrus is the only character where his species affected his personality - he was specifically created to to be the opposite of a ‘laughing hyena’, instead being more quiet and reserved. Compare to Tanner where I wanted a tiger character because tigers are cool! Luckily for Syrus, hyenas are also cool.

Syrus was born from that simple idea, little did I know how big of a role he’d end up having!
