Includes rough and tight sketch. The "rough" (or initial concept done before payment so that we are on the same page) for this one is both larger and drawn tighter than usual for this stage for two reasons: 1) it was a complicated layout; and, 2) the commissioner has paid for many commissions previously. As usual, the Tight Sketch stage is a full-size, tighter drawing very close to the final for the commissioner to review before I begin the final image....

This month's concept comes from That New Shoe Smell, who entered this idea into the November 2024 Tier 3 (Color-Themed) Patreon Art Contest and came in an extremely close 3rd place. (37 v 32 v 31 votes).
Patron requests included: changing roller blades (1st rough) to older roller skates for a 1950s vibe. I then added the checkered hat and large order pad to complete the 50's style (and then added the 50's drive-in background)....

(Forgot to post this earlier — I was very busy working hard on this issue.)
The FINAL frame has been completed for the next issue of grOw/cinema 1, "The Ever-Expanding Universe." Episode XXVI will be titled "MAMMA-ray Burst."
I still have to work on the cover, and finalize all changes coming out of the numerous proofreading endeavors (it's amazing how you don't catch some stuff the first, second, or even third time around).
