Case 107: Lucie Blackman and Carita Ridgway

In early 2001, 21-year old Lucie Blackman left her job as a flight attendant for British Airways in search of new adventures. She embarked on a working holiday to Japan, where she secured a job as a hostess at Club Casablanca in Tokyo’s bustling Roppongi district. Lucie struggled with the transition, writing in her diary: “I’m not coping well here. I can’t pull myself out of this hole I’ve fallen into… I just want to disappear.”

A question for $5 Tier Patrons

Hello all,

Casefile has just been pitched an opportunity to release 'premium' content on another platform. That 'premium' content will be exactly what you get here on patreon at the $5 tier. The AMA's, From the files and add free episodes. Along with the back catalogue of 3 mini episodes we released, behind the scenes etc.

So nothing would change for you here at patreon. Everything will be exactly as is. The difference being - the content will also be available on another pl...

UPDATE

So the new platform for the typed AMA didnt quite go to plan. One person joined me (Hello Karen!). So we'll keep looking into that.

From the Files for January will be recorded next week, as will the January AMA. They will be released late next week sometime.

Part 2 of case 106 is all hands on deck at the moment. The finishing touches are being put on the script, it then needs to be recorded, then go through the production process. Meaning, there will be no early releas...

Case 106: Peter Nielsen (Part 1/2)

As midnight approached on July 1 2002, the German village of Owingen was disturbed by a deep rumbling from above. Residents assumed an unforecast storm was brewing, but seconds later a thunderous explosion roared as a large ball of fire illuminated the night sky.

January typed AMA

It's time for the January typed AMA. As patreon no longer supports the "go live" feature. We are going to trial the chat here;

https://tlk.io/janchat

Simply go to that URL (the chat works on phone/devices as well), enter your name to join the chat, and you're in. No sign up required. No passwords. That URL is all you need!

We will trial it this month and see how we go.

Chat will be Tuesday...

JANUARY AMA

It's time to get those questions in for the January AMA. This is the recorded version for the $5 tier. (We are still working on the best alternative for the typed AMA's available to all tiers, now that patreon has removed the go live feature).

The anonymous host will be on to talk about how brilliant that Patriots win was on the weekend - and of course, answer your questions. Joining him this month will be one of the full time writers, Milly or Elsha. Maybe even both.

Case 105: Louise Bell

On the evening of January 4 1983, 10-year-old Adelaide schoolgirl Louise Bell said goodnight to her parents and retired to the bedroom she shared with her younger sister. The next morning, when Louise’s mother went to check on her daughters, the fly screen above Louise’s bed had been cut and she was nowhere to be seen.

Patreon removing the go live feature

Just got some bad news. Patreon are removing the go live feature, which is what we use to do the live typed AMA's here on patreon with the host.

We will look for suitable alternatives, if any of you have suggestions, let us know in the comments.
