287.Wanna see magic?

I have been out for too long, but I'm finally back, and I hope to continue working on the comic until I finish this arc at least. I have been a bit active on Deviantart this year, so I'm uploading here some other "pages" with explanations that I published there before.

Sorry for disappearing for a month! I don't seem to focus well on quarantine, but everything is fine. I even have new ideas for the comic, I hope I don't delay that much again.

Hi, this moth will be messy with the game and the coronavirus. Here in Asturias where I live it's not a big problem yet, but we are taking precautions throughout Spain. I hope you all are good.

First comic on itch.io and more news!

I promised a post about my plans for the future and other news, so there it is. First of all, I will start uploading the comic to itch.io in pdf format. I have upload the first part for free. The next parts will be paid, but I will gave free access for core supporters.

In second place I have made phanges to the page. I have removed the goals, because I don't have that goals anymore, and adapted the rewards. I also have changed a bit the desing of the page including a new banner.

A bit late, but I consider this page part of the february work. It wasn't a good month in term of pages, but on April everything will get better. I will write a post this afternoon talking a bit more about this.

About the page, I'm a bit proud about the tears on her face. Yeah, maybe you can see them too much. They are far from perfect. I did it too small, and might need more contrast. But they are "hand-drawn", not 3D. I hope you like the scene.

What happened??? This doesn't looks good. As you might guess it was some kind of magic.

This page took me more than expected. I was a bit busy, of course, but also it was quite complex, because the number of panels and effects. I had to rerender some of them. Let see if I can change this with the next pages.

Last page of January. 5 pages are less than expected, but much better than the 2 of December. Let see if I can do 6 at least in February.

Anyway, as you can suspect, something is gonna happen in the next page, and it will have 'unpredictable' consecuences.

There are just a few days left of January, but I hope to have 1 or 2 more pages this month. ;)

Hi! Things with the troll are ending here. But other interesting things will happen soon!

Anyway it looks like I'm advancing more these days. I hope to reach at least 6 pages this month. I'm also planning to pay more attention to the comic the next moth, refresh the page,... I'm still very busy with the game I'm working on, but I hope to have it ready in spring, and have more time for this.

Happy holidays! Ok I have fixed the problem of the 'bright' clotehs of Arya, and here she is again.

These days are a mess. I hope to do it better in January. On the good side it looks like the new IA algorithm can really improve render times. I need to plan few pages in advance because that way is easier to combine it with other tasks.

I have the main idea prepared. I really don't want to make this 'roleplay' part to too long, so I should take a time to organ...

I have a problem with the render, and I'm not sure why. Arya's overtunic is shiny while it should be matte. It doesn't look so bad, but it shouldn't look that way. The material looks the same, but I might have made a change I can't find.

I hope I can fix this before the next page.

I also hope things get better with the troll!

Sorry for the delay! :( Basically I had to show the game i'm developing in an expo so I had some bussy weeks preparing and all that. I will tell you more about it in my next post. December will be a mess too, but I hope to work more in the comic. ;)

In fact I have found that the last version of Daz3D uses IA to "speed up" some renders. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with biggest images (it might be a RAM problem), so I just can accelerate part of my job...

I really need a better graphic card. I wold have rendered again one or two panels if not for the tame it takes. I have some doubts with the last panel. The Troll is shaking Arya to make her stop with the spell. I hope it's clear in this context, but... as I said before, I'm not very good with action and movement.

Which kind of spell was that? I think you can imagine, but we will see if it works soon...

Hmmm, this scene might look a bit confusing. I think I don't have enough experience with comic narrative. Anyway, it looks like Arya have an idea, so maybe the next page might be more interesting. ;)

Last page of October (it's already November but...). It looks like it's not my best moment, with the game and all. But I hope to have more money the next year, and it looks like technology are advancing. Renders like these takes me hours, but there are new graphics cards and versions updates that might reduce these times to minutes! So I'm eager to try new things. I have a lot of plans for the future of the comic.

Sorry for the delay, I'm working in my game preparing a version with the first 3 levels and a bit under pressure right now, but it's almost ready so I hope to be able to advance more now.

I hope this page it's not too much confusing. I've tried to show Arya's point of view but it might not be the better view. I wonder if there are better ways to do this.

I loved designing this page. Action images aren't easy for me, because I have no so much  experience reading comics, or at drawing. But I think I reflected here what I wanted to show.

What would happen now? I think this scene can be interpreted in different ways that will change based on what will happen next. The idea is in my head. I hope I can do it right.

This week is mess. I have to register in the tax office to be able to get paid from customers, and on Saturday I go to a wedding. I promise there will be pictures next week.

Posing two characters embraced is a difficult task. At least with this kind of figures. Sometimes the arms don't reach the point they should. But I'm quite happy with the result.

If you see anything wrong, or unnatural, please tell me. I want to improve this kind of scenes.

So it looks she is nice. Ah, and I want to explain a bit more about "Ari". Basically "Ari" is the name I started using for transition. In Spain at least it's not a name with a clearly assigned gender, so it can be considered neutral. It can be a contraction of Aria, but also from other masculine names, so it was safer to use.

I'm not sure what I will use in the future. I use Aryadna professionally, and Arya in social networks. I love all of them a...

264. I'm trans

This page was supposed to be published earlier, but I saved the last render over the previous one, so I had to render it again. It's awful how much takes to render this images. A better computer could help, but it would be far from instant even in that case. Raytracing makes great graphics, but it requieres a lot of processing, with this complex scenarios and figures.

Anyway, arya have revealed her secret. Or at least part of it. But I'm not sure they will have to...

Maybe I need to explain this a bit more ( although some of this will be explained in the next pages). I hate being seen as the typical nerd boy, because that's almost a stereotype. Nerd girls on the other hand... I think we need more representation, so I feel much better if I'm seen as one.

Anyway it can seem a bit strange if she have no clue that I'm trans. What  should  I say now?

Ok, this page might be a bit confusing. It's not the best composition, I suppose. But on the other hand it express the own confussion that Arya have right now. It will be explained better in the next pages.

Anyway as you can see, Arya is finally in the forest, so you can expect some action soon.
