Ekay and his father have completed their survey of the wreckage, and are ready to set about righting the overturned carriage. Their plan: to rig up a pulley system and use their cow to pull it back up.
Slipping a length of rope around a nearby tree stump, Ekay secures his end. Next, his father holds the cow chimes to guide the cow along as it pulls the other length of rope. This clever setup should fix the situation!

Ekay and his father survey their overturned carriage. With their cow sitting quietly in the grass nearby, the father reassures his son and takes a closer look at the road before them. There, he finds a clutch of eggs, which he identifies as those laid by a wild T-Urchin cow. This also leads him to conclude they were the reason their own cow acted strange and lost control.

The carriage rapidly continues forward towards the strange creatures, its occupants helpless to do anything more than to hang on tight. Upon reaching the shadowy figures, the carriage's right wheels strike them, causing the entire carriage to tilt wildly, toppling over onto its side with a loud CRASH.

As the T-Urchin cow continues to barrel forward vigorously, something strange and shadowy can be seen on the road ahead. Before anyone has time to react, one of the carriage wheels slides onto something soft and slimy, causing the carriage to tilt wildly. Hang on, everyone!

Heeding his son's call, Ekay's father rushes outside to see what the problem is. Before he can spot the strange creature up ahead, their Talyxian cow charges forward without being given any command or lure from the chimes.
Ekay's father grabs the chime's control lever in an attempt to quell the beast's movement, but with the lure jingling intensely, the cow is now clearly out of control — and gaining momentum.

Ekay's train of thought is brought to a halt when he spots something strange on the roadway. Using the controlling rod, he rapidly jingles the set of chimes, indicating to the T-urchin cow to come to a halt. Ekay then calls out to his father in order to wake him up immediately and informs him of the situation.
