Double WiP content this week to make up for last week! This is the earliest sketch for this month's pinup, dropping tomorrow night as a Halloween treat! The final looks a bit different and has a lil' skit at the bottom.

Psu: We don't draw these characters nearly enough.
Gunwild: I don't love how exposition-heavy this strip is instead of being emotional, but the faces are good. And I would in fact read that book about that doggy.
Psu: I think it was a worth while aside trip though. They're important characters to the overall story but kinda hard to fit them into the moment to moment events. This tells us a lot about the both of them.

This is gonna be a good one...
As we've seen before, flat colors act as a guide for more detailed work, and may not always precisely resemble what ends up being final. For example, Maddy's gun probably won't be a hot red number, but it's easy to change that later while picking it out as a distinct object for now.

Gunwild: Now, if there was one Cassiopeia Quinn comic that I'd say I regret, it's this one. And that's despite actually liking the individual gags in it. I have complicated feelings.
Psu: Ah yeah, this one. Well it was tough to draw too. I remember we had some discussions about it. But it's also easy to say Cassiopeia's just a big exaggerator about things.

Gunwild: I actually don't like that this uses the "talking to camera" conceit to just set up whatever the hell we want to do outside of a narrative context. I think that's overused. But I do like the actual strip.
Psu: This and the Burrito are a couple of the most iconic Cassiopeia Quinn strips. I think in that we don't use "talking to the camera" a lot, it works well...
