I almost never cry, like literally maybe 2-3 times a year, and I really don't like that about myself. Lately, I've been feeling very overwhelmed and there've been many instances where I just needed a good stress cry. But even though I can feel that stuffiness in my head, the tears don't come and it's kind of frustrating.

Crying is great. It's like a huge emotional release and I want that haha xD;;;;

Also don't ask me about the bogus Shakespearean hfhghd I was just feelin' it hah...

Now that I've had a little break from these comics, there are some things that I want to change about them. One of these things is making the panels thinner, which will give me more room to draw. I also think it looks nicer if the panels are roughly the same line weight as the speech bubbles. This is something that possibly only matters to me haha but yeah :> ...It means I'm going to have to redraw all my panel templates though xD

Big Sketchdump!

I've been keeping up with sketching on my iPad when I can! Because of this, something quite dangerous has happened to me.... For many years now, my favourite part of drawing has been inking. I love making neat lineart, there's something so satisfying about it to me. I've always hated my sketches because they're so messy and not the neat lines that I want to make.... But now, I'm finding that I actually kind of like my sketches, and I kind of prefer them to my inked drawings.... uh oh!!!

Drawing Teeth!

I am very not good at drawing characters with open mouths. Even in my own comics, I will avoid drawing a wide smile or an open yell as much as I possibly can, because mouth shapes kind of confuse me! Especially when they're from anything other than a front and centred angle.

Knowing that this is a weakness of mine that I need to overcome, I'm making more of an effort to try and figure out mouths + teeth! I made a Pinterest board and I think I'm getting a bit better. Still got a long wa...

Character Profiles

It's very hard for me to get nice looking lines on the iPad but I kind of like the wobbliness of these in their own way. I'd really like to ink them in Photoshop just to compare!

One thing that's really cool about drawing on the iPad is that I feel less pressure to make the drawings look good because I know they're going to be a bit wobbly no matter what I do. And in a way, I feel like that makes them look more natural than if I were to ink them properly...
