Sorry for the lack of updates, been sick as hell the last week and a half so things slowed down a bit. To make up for it, I figured I'd show of the very very very early progress of project #2 for next year. As of now I'm calling it pl_blocked. Gavle Progress

I'm going a bit crazy on layouts right now with potentially 5-6 maps planned for this next year! It's probably a bad idea! I'll be dropping a preview of the second new one here soon, but in the meantime, check out this quick flythrough of the new Gavle back area leading into B. I completely scrapped the previous build back there and came up with this new streamlined layout. Next project close to ready to test!

Here's one of my next big projects, starting from the ground up as an A1! This is cppl_gavle, intended to be a 2 stage map that starts with control point and goes to payload for the second stage. Right now I've got stage 1 blocked out and I'm going to jump into testing it here asap. I tried to focus a lot on verticality and interesting gameplay, and honestly I'm thrilled to be back at the start of a block out. This is fun, exciting, and a bit daunting!

Something I'm working on

It's been a little quiet over here after wrapping up my Halloween projects, but I wanted to show off a project I'm helping with for this winter. ctf_sidewinder is a pretty fun little CTF map that will be entirely original for the winter theme. With it originally being a layout by Stickface and being primarily detailed by Mr. Will Afred, I'm going to be assisting in detailing wherever I can to help get it out the door in time for this winter!

Devilcross

Cool name, right?  So here's my latest progress on my doublecross event reskin. I went a bit crazy on it the last couple weeks, having finally locked in a solid direction for it. I'm leaning heavy onto the Bonesaw custom assets to create what I'm thinking of as "what if Doublecross was violently teleported to hell"

I'm going to hopefully be dropping this in the next few weeks onto the workshop, with Brine event somewhere around that! It's go time!

Halloween Update

Yo, I've been on the grind a bit so I thought I'd drop a quick update...  

Unfortunately one of the projects I had mentioned before had to get dropped, Gauntlet. The timeline just wasn't looking feasible, and 3 projects on my plate was going to be a bit intense.

Halloween plans

Hey all, I've been a bit quiet the last few weeks as I've been busy transferring to my new PC + being a full time dad while my daughter is out of school for the summer. BUT, I've got some projects in the works that I'd like to spoil for you now!

Secret Event Map

So I started this event map awhile back, the same time I was working on Doublefrost. When that map got in game, I figured I'd take a break from this one as the demand for another Doublecross reskin would be very low. But I'm thinking about picking it back up again, so here's roughly where it was at, at the time! I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with the purple hazy look or focus more on lava, but I feel like the latter is more dramatic and would lead to more interesting lighting options. View Post

WIP Birdsplosion

Got the logic all sorted out finally, so here's the whole package for the birds on Brine. Going to have them on a longer timer than shown in the video, this was just for testing purposes!

Hoping the next release I'll have all of these in place, and the map will be considered feature complete, to me!

Some new models for Brine!

We are actively working on polishing up Brine for the workshop release, which will be tomorrow! Here's some new models worked on for the map, although the seagull will likely not make the first initial push just yet.

Be sure to watch out for the release, though! We're super hyped for it! The video will also feature the first Patron plug at the end of it! <3

Some of the custom assets made for Brine

We're on our way to a workshop release VERY soon, ideally by the end of the week. So right now, we're crunching on any last minute polish/ optimization that we could do on the map. Here's some of the custom props we've gotten made up so far, including the big sword fish hero prop for mid, salmon bucket, fenders, and crab pots! Plus, and updated shot of mid that will likely be our promo angle!

More WIP!

This time the 3d skybox has been started, a LOT of polish on the map already. Freyja estimates we're about 98% detailed already. I took a day yesterday to do an initial clipping pass, but it'll need a lot more work on that before release. We'll also need a lot of optimization work. Ways to go, but we're on track for the deadline!

A current secret WIP project

I am currently working with my long-time mapping partener Freyja on a project called Brine.

Brine is a re-imagining and full detail pass of the map Trenchfoot, which is currently up on the workshop.

Our goal is to have this ready to publish before the announced May 1st deadline Valve announced. If you'd like to ask me about it, be sure to hit up the discord server!
