One of my great loves is and has always been Nudes in Nature.
I love it when you can incorporate a nude body, often anonymous, in an environment.
This is a slightly special case, and I usually would make this black and white to avoid color clashing, but I ended up going with color and subduing the tones and making the background colder.
This is also one of the images I can explore for several seconds, taking in all the different structures and color schemes.
And if I c...

Rigmor AA doing her thing on the studio floor. I most definitively look a good booty, but there is also something both intriguing and sensual about a muscular back, in my opinion.
This was lit with the studio windows just above the frame, creating a backlit environment, which is always great to shoot in.
I also have a black flag on the opposite side to create a negative fill.

I’m ambivalent about this series:
Dovile and I set out to do some erotic images.
But shooting them, I felt I couldn’t get light or poses to work as I wanted.
I can’t tell you what didn’t work, but something was off.
And I’m not that fond of the images. I can’t figure out whether it’s the feeling I had when shooting them or they are not good.
Something feels off about them.
I know that I’m not always the best judge of my work (I think that go...

I have painful memories of this image, even though I think it was worth it.
We should have done a lot more there, though, but I couldn’t:
The day before, I broke my pinky-toe after slamming it into a concrete ledge.
So I taped the foot up with Sports tape and did a morning shoot on the Black sand beach in Lanzarote.
But then Wiana and I went to this place, where I had to scale the rocks wearing Birkenstock sandals (the only thing I could fit my foot into) while scaling...

I found her anyway. 😜
Backlit daylight from my studio windows.

I shot this in a cave in Death Valley in ’19, and while archiving a lot of stuff recently, I revisited the series and edited it.
There is something almost poetic about this hyper-focus on the delicate model and the softer yet coarse background that is out of focus.
And the double "S" composition (model and background).
It’s one of those images that I look at and try to find a meaning, but with very few clues available.
And yet I look.
That is always a good sign.<...

I’ve talked about making some, erm, "self-pleasuring" images with The Endless Sinner for some time, and even though I can't show them here we both wanted to shoot them,
I didn’t want them to, in any way, resemble Met art or regular magazine images, though.
So I did some experimentation both with light and movement, long exposure times, and moving the camera closer during exposure.
The light is direct sunlight through a Lee Opal diffuser filter and then flagged off ...

Here is a set with the gorgeous Myntemodel in the penthouse kitchen.
It’s all ambient light, and I mostly contributed to choosing the time of day and the composition.
And a bit of model direction, of course.
It’s a super simple set, but I think it works,
It feels like something you could experience yourself, so it’s believable and feels real.

I shot this in an Airbnb I rented in Crema, Italy, while passing through.
The main challenge here was setting up my one light, a Brofoto B10 in a 2’ octo box with a soft grid, so it didn’t look like any artificial light on the scene.
I’m still wondering about this furniture:
Unless it is meant to kneel on, or the owner is a dwarf who uses the low thing...

This, again, is from the private workshop I did in December.
It was a demonstration of how I edit, and she got to make the final selection of images and chose this one.
I’ve come to understand that a lot of women appreciate creating very erotic and explicit images, provided they can be sure it’s done beautifully.
Few, on the other hand, want some sub-par images in a very vulnerable/erotic situation floating around on the internet.
And that is one of the reasons many mo...

I’m a voyeur, and I don’t hide it, not to models either.
Honesty is the most straightforward approach (and they know anyway).
And sometimes that makes for some exciting shoots, like this with The Endless Sinner, where she is just showing off, with no pretense of not doing just that.
While I’m a voyeur, she is an exhibitionist, as you can see when she insisted on shooting me on the sofa.
The light is hard sun diffused by some lee Opal diffuser foil taped up in fron...

Belzen and I had an afternoon and an early morning in this fantastic place, Kullaberg Nature Reserve. The morning, we went exploring and, among other things, came upon this fantastic cave.
I was standing on a steep ladder posted to the rock, and she climbed up, so this was the only usable perspective.
Sure, one of them is a tad on the sexy side because of the angle and the open lags, but I hope you can live with it.😎

It is a cool series with the outstanding Lena Dancer on my Ottoman.
It’s all daylight through the windows diffused with a Lee Opal filter attached to the window and a Black flag on the opposite side to supply some negative fill.
From there on, it’s all about composition and having Lena perform her magic.
Geez, I love working with dancers.
PS. For me to be able to even have this light available during winter it tool a bit of demolition: Outside my studio, there was ...

The sweet Daniella Carter in a bootylicious shoot.
I’ve figured out that this setup is a slam dunk every time:
Daylight through the windows, feet through the armrests, and lean forward.
There is something with the angle of the legs-to-back that is just perfect with the light.
And I have yet to meet a model who didn’t like her booty and lower back depicted this way…

Dharma, a Ukranian model, dropped by the studio while in Denmark.
She brought some knee-length black boots, so I decided to set up a fashion’s erotic style images.
These were lit with a 57” Zeppelin with a soft grid, and, as usual, a couple of flags were used to restrict the light from reaching the background.

The form of some of the F16 shelters on the old airfield where my studio is located has a gorgeous texture on the blast-proof doors, which works well as a background.
Here, it’s Minka Model taking advantage of the environment. She is such an excellent poser.
Natural light is slightly overcast sun and a Sigma 24-70mm zoom lens.
Which of these is your favorite? I love the third “crucifixion” image. There is something about the lines that are sucking up attention.

I did a private workshop with a UK photographer who brought D Genvievre as a model. This set was shot as a request to match some light from some reference images.
I snapped a couple of iPhone pics so you can see the setup.
It's shot with a 57" Zeppelin, but it could be a softbox, silver umbrella, or a white umbrella, Which all would change the look slightly (light wise silver umbrella would be harder with brighter specular highlights and more pronounced shadow outline - and shadow...

Here are another couple of images with Daniella Carter (you can see where these were shot in the BTS movie, assuming you have access to this - Photographers and vault tier).
These were shot with a Sigma 24-70mm ƒ. 2.8 zoom, my standard go-to lens. Again, there is daylight from the windows but with the model placed so it’s backlight instead of sidelight like yesterday.
I find dark images like this intriguing, assuming that tiny amount of detail gradually reveals details; how do yo...

These images of Daniella Carter are shot in the same place and light as yesterday's installment, although daylight always differs a bit.
Here, I set up my large gold frame mirror. Most of these were shot with an 85mm ƒ1.2 lens and a couple with my 50mm ƒ0.95 at ƒ1.2
Check out the Behind the scenes video for how it was made
Btw. Apologies for the watermark on the second image, nothing to see anyway but it allows me to repurpose it on Social media.

In December, I had the opportunity for a short shoot with Modeling by Godthaab, and we managed to squeeze in a few sets. She has a strict “no Labia” policy so you won’t see that body. I work around requirements like that by using light and selective focus.
This is natural light through my two studio windows in the “lounge area.”

In Mallorca this summer, The Endless Sinner and Wiana persuaded Lou Lou models to shoot a rope set (her first). She was intrigued by the idea, having seen a lot of Araki’s work, so it didn’t take much effort.
I used a Lomo Petzval 56mm Canon mount ƒ 2.8 with a Shift/tilt lens adapter on my Sony A7rIV.
When shifting a lens, you can change the optimal focus area (and bokeh center) from the center of the frame to either end. And when tilting the...

I had Grace visit me from the UK a couple of month ago. She was especially intrigued by some of my stripe images, so I did a setup to recreate some of those for her.
Usually, I would hang a string curtain in front of a sunlit window.
However, as we had no sun, I set up a focusable spotlight to give a pointed light source instead of the sun. The main problem with this is the amount of light you can use is very limited so as not to overheat the lamp/spotlight.
I hav...

I’m sure my old art teacher would have had a field day analyzing this, and yes, it’s precisely what it looks like:
An ancient lighthouse (and not a penis).
The image would work just fine without it, but it adds some intrigue to the picture.
I shot this with hard sunlight reflected off the water. Other than composition, my main contribution to the excellent posing skill of The Endless Sinner is making sure her arm casts a shadow that adds a bit of mystery to the image.
