Booty-time

Belzen is a Danish model who (unfortunately) lives on the opposite end of Denmark (as in 6 hours by car/train or an hour by plane).

So when we had a chance to shoot, we made it count: First, we did an evening and morning at Kullaberg in Sweden and then half a day in the studio, and here is one image we created of her in the studio (more to follow).

And I hope more shoots to follow too...

Am I the only one who loves sculptural images?

Depani

I saw an image of Depani Malika and immediately wrote that if she ever visited Copenhagen, I was up for shooting with her.

She did some four months later, and we ended up creating a lot of different images.

Help me out on the first image:
I can’t decide whether she’s incredibly sexy or looks weird in that image. What do you think?

As for the other image, who doesn’t like that view…

Wiana on Location

Phew, did it get hot in here?

This was the first set I shot with Fatima Kojima last year at Arsenic. We hadn’t discussed shooting anything erotic, but that came naturally to her, and we fell into a beautiful collaboration that turned out very erotic. I’m not complaining.

The lighting is straight LA sun around midday, sometimes with the occasional cloud passing by.

Reflective on the rocks

Last year, I was in the Peak District shooting with Hannah Cleopatra, and forgive my French, but it was windy AF. Again, all-natural light on an overcast day. And the reason this works is that she is standing right next to a dark rock that works as a flag, eliminating glare from one side.

That’s why I have this lovely soft but still directional light accentuating her body.

Interaction

When I shoot duo images, I think having a reason for the second model is essential. I prefer some interaction that alludes to a story, which is precisely what I was striving to set up here. I believe I succeeded; what do you think?

To me, the gentle touch of the fingers and the facial expression say it all.

As you can see in the video, it’s all-natural light in an abandoned Manor.

Hillside Finca

I was in Mallorca with Rebecca Perry, shooting the “prequel” or the first iteration of my Art Nude on Location guide. We had just shot at a tower opposite the road and noticed this little stone-finca, toolshed, or whatever.

It was not inhabited, and no one was around, so we set up a shoot and did this and one other series. It’s all-natural light with a road just before the place.

Illustrious dreaming

Kiki De Montparnasse in an ancient Airbnb in Crema/Italy.

I was driving down to Soresina to conduct a workshop but did a stopover and got a shoot squeezed in with Kiki on the way down.

She is lying on a bed with a backlight from a window. The perspective was interesting, and the setting presented a tiny storyline.

Or maybe it’s just my kinky imagination ;)

Green waters

Dottir model on Mallorca a couple of years ago. I can’t pinpoint why, but I have a love/hate relationship with this image. It’s not great or bad, but it intrigues me, and I still have not figured out why. Feel free to chime in with opinions.

Boss-Lady and kitten

If asked, Wiana Model and The Endless Sinner are always up for a kinky roleplaying set. This was in the old control tower next to the airfield where my studio is situated.

The setting works great for something like this.

All natural light and a pop-up black reflector from one side to make sure there is proper contrast and good shadows.

A study in brown

Here are a couple more images of Faith Starr. I haven’t shot anything like this since I moved out of the Studio I had in Vanløse, but I’ll try to take it up again.

I like the simplicity and minimalism. 

It will be fun to see if I can recreate something like this in my Studio, which does not have that high a ceiling. I guess that will be one of the experiments for this winter.

Venus on Mars - extra material

In 2017+2018, I was roaming the US southwestern deserts with Roarie Yum, Sekaa Chavez, and Willa Prescott, shooting my book Venus On Mars.

Since I shot more than 20 K images, you can likely Imagine I had to make the selection before editing the photos.

In the heat of a moment

I first shot Victoria Alyse in a group shoot at Arsenic in LA. It was her first or second nude shoot, and she was somewhat shy.

Last year, I went to LA, and we set up another shoot, and I can safely attest that the shyness is gone.

These were shot at FD photo studios in LA, a multi-location rental studio but where most sites have large windows, so daylight is readily available. In this case, it was facing southwest, so a lot of sun (and heat) was coming through the windows. The no...

BTS from todays shoot with The Endless Sinner

I don’t think The Endless Sinner has any inhibitions, which, of course, makes it enjoyable to photograph her. Since there are no taboos, you can experiment with shooting at any position and angle, sometimes creating some unique images.

Had it not been for the background and the black and white, this could have looked like some 80’ies erotic or pørn image (sorry, Patreon does not allow that word with an o).

This is from my third shoot with Laetitia. 

As you likely know, she is a brilliant model with a ballet and yoga background. After doing the classic type images, I wanted to show a bit more about the physique lying behind what she can do, but in a static way.

I’m pretty fond of these.

I lit the series with a large fresnel spot.

Circus ponytail

It was lit with a 57” Zeppelin deep umbrella with a diffuser in front of the lamp.

Reaching for the sky

This is an old set with a 50+ Woman shot at a dried lake outside Las Vegas.

She contacted me some weeks before while I was in LA and asked if I wanted to shoot with her. I said I’d love to, but the only chance would be the morning before I flew home from Las Vegas.

Two weeks later, I picked her up at 4 a.m. at the Vdara hotel, and we drove out to the lakebed and shot these (among some other images.)

Then we drove back to Vegas, had breakfast on the balcony of the Paris Hot...
