Elevator pitch

The Endless Sinner makes the most compelling elevator pitch I’ve ever seen.

This set was somewhat challenging due to the lighting: there was a lot of light in the room outside the elevator, and the mirror created a backlit effect. However, not much light entered the elevator, except for the vertical ceiling spotlights. So I added several small LEDs above the camera to get a little fill.

Another challenge was to avoid getting the lamps—or camera—in the mirror, so careful placement and angling were necessary.

Oh, and not to mention that the elevator door kept closing, and we didn’t want The Endless Sinner to stand nude in someone else's apartment when they called the elevator.😅

You’ll meet Sekaa’s ghost, Miriam goes into beast mode, and we’ll round the month off with a gorgeous set of Wiana in the lava canyon (below), followed by Mynte, who will tease you infinitely.

That’s 107 well-edited images and 17 videos exceeding 5 hours playing time (two of which are edited multicam videos).

That's enough to keep you entertained much longer than 2 motion pictures, and you can even watch it again and again.
You do have to make your popcorn though...

This started with me looking over some old images and remembering I had a lot of this model, that were never edited. So I dug out the raw files from the archive and edited them.
Except for the first two images, which I did in ’17, nobody else has seen these.

I decided against the cooler color grading I used and opted for a more natural look this time around though.

The light is exactly what it looks like: sunlight streaming through some greenish curtains from the back, and a dark wooden floor.

Unfortunately, I never shot with the model again.
She was incredibly sweet and exceptionally talented, but about a year later, she asked if I could make her anonymous as she was pursuing another path where nude images would be frowned upon.

This illustrates why I typically set my camera screen to black and white: it’s easier to determine if the lighting is adequate. Sometimes, the color can be misleading, causing the final image to be unusable.

The wanderers

On the second road trip I took to shoot "Venus On Mars" with Roarie Yum, Willa Prescott, and Seeka Chavez, we all met up in Las Vegas. Seeka flew in the next day, and we had lunch with Angie Marie and Kira Floofie.

Angie Marie asked if she could join, so we went to an abandoned cement factory and captured some fantastic shots.
We had also planned to meet up with another photographer traveling with two models, Kayla and Sierra Totten, whom I also ended up shooting with.

None of the images made it into the book, as they are of structures, and the rest of the book is pure nature.

I’ve posted some from this site before (search for Roarie, Willa, or Seeka). The second shot could have been included, but it would have been the only image featuring Angie Marie, so it didn’t fit the context.

And the next morning, we hit Valley of Fire at dawn, and the trip started for real.

Road Trip with Regina

In 2017, I took a summer road trip with Regina Piil to Sweden for three days, and we shot a lot of art nudes.

We had some plans about where to go, but really, it was just to have a few days of creative exploration and discover new backgrounds, which often lead to new ideas.

I suppose the one with the large building was inspired by Ken Lichtenwalter or Gary Breckheimer and shot with a 14mm. It was fun to do something completely different from what I normally do, and I made Ragina a diagonal to break the symmetry of the rest of the image.

I also discovered that this is not me.

It’s nice, but it doesn’t feel quite right, so I don’t plan to pursue it.

I encourage everyone to try new things and add their own twist (instead of merely copying), but then evaluate and see if it feels right.

Futomomo with Scalpel Priestess

This was the last location shot of the day from my collaboration with @tomofswedenshibari and @scalpellpriestess. Tom had done all the rope rigging for another shoot earlier (which should be posted soon), and he asked the model if she was up for doing a Futomomo (suspension from one leg) from that set.

I set up a smoke machine at the rear and a flash on the floor at a low output to create light and shadows, which gives it a more industrial feel. This also creates a lighter background so the black rope is visible instead of merging into a dark background.

For the main light, I used a 2' Octobox with a grid to restrict the light as much as toward the center isle and dampened the sides a bit more in post-production.

Poppy and the red door - BTS

A quick workshop from a nude ballet themed workshop I did.

Here are some round-ups with Poppyseed.

The Red Door is from a two-day location ballet workshop where I booked her and Lafillemalgarde, it was an abandoned factory destined for demolition but we got to use it for a couple of days.

The day after the workshop, we left for Sweden to shoot on some rocks. We took some great shots together, all of which I’ve published before, despite it being pretty windy.

The next two images were during a later trip to the same location, a small, not very well-known nook of Kullaberg, which was teeming with people.

The last shot was taken on a joint trip with Lilith Etch to a monastery ruin near Lake Vänern in Sweden.

As you can see below, the glory and warmth of the last image are somewhat deceiving as she is trying to stay warm in a ray of sun befoire undressing.
It was cold AF and early in the morning to avoid the tourist crowds, but hey, I don’t do documentary photography.

Reinventing the wheel

Elena in the Peak District. A few years ago, I rented an Airbnb in the Lake District and had some models visit for a shoot.

Elena arrived on the last evening, and the next morning we did a shoot in the Lake District before heading south along the way and dropping her off in the Midlands of England.

We had planned a stopover in the Peak District, but the weather was uncooperative, so we ended up taking a few shots in the hotel we stayed at.

The weather forecast for the next day promised Armageddon from around 8am, but it wasn’t raining at 6am, so we drove out to a place she knew.
It turned out to be a 20-minute walk from the car, climbing up on a bit of a ledge, and we found this place.

We managed to shoot for about 15 minutes, and then the rain started.

I rushed to get down, knowing what was likely in store, and high-tail it toward the car.
But about halfway there, we were pelleted by heavy rain, to the degree I covered my camera backpack with my rain jacket. And accepted that there wasn’t any point in running, we were both drenched as if we had been swimming.

The shots turned out well, but I’ll tell you, other than dry clothing, the full English breakfast and several cups of warm Tea were the best part of that day…

Apologies for the sound on this one, testing out a new camera with a microphone, and it did not work as expected.

I’ve photographed Wiana in her birthday suit so many times that it was almost surreal to see her dressed up in some gorgeous lingerie, and I thought you would appreciate seeing that too.

The light is windowlight from the studio windows through a curtain, and they arer shot with a 50mm Sigma Art lens ƒ1.2.

We made a lot of really beautiful shots there, while waiting for Tomofsweden to turn up as we were doing a Shibari set with Wiana that afternoon.

Naomi’s castle

I’ve never shown these images on Patreon, which I thought was a pity. They were shot at the gorgeous castle in Tura, Hungary, which has since been renovated and turned into the Hotel Botanique. All natural light in and around the castle.

Octopus(sy) Cave

It’s not the real name, but it became what we called it:

I had found this cave while prescouting, and it's only accessible at low tide as it's otherwise filled with water to the roof.

Accessibility turned out to be a bit of a challenge though.

Walked around a cliff face, and everything looked great until we couldn’t go further and had to get in the water.

That's the cave in the background above, and it's bigger than you'd think.

But the rocks down to the water, including what the girls are standing on above, are submerged most of the day and slippery AF.
It was sheer luck that I didn’t drown my camera, twist an ankle, or cut myself when I descended with an utter lack of grace.

Note to self: always bring a waterproof bag in the backpack).

I slid down a 2m 7’ slope into the water with rocks without knowing how deep it was, and it was somewhat deeper than I had hoped!

Anyway, when Vicky slid down, she encountered a rather large octopus that turned red right in front of her, and that is one animal she is not particularly fond of. 🐙

Hence, Octopus Cave.

That said, we did a couple of great shots there before getting out and trying to figure out how to get back up.
It’s a gorgeous and somewhat alien environment, having once been the interior of a lava tube.

This is a trio shot with the gold dresses mentioned in the post on June 8. As always, it’s about finding a way for the models to interact and set something up.
