Hey everyone! Golly, things have been... what's the right word? Unbelievable? Intense? Totes cray cray? So, I got the "ok" from my doc to take a little roadtrip out to see my wonderful and amazing Mom. About an hour from her place, I experienced the worst pain I have ever felt coming from my lower back. Long story short, I made it to her house and was able to get the pain under control. The bad news is that I can't really sit down. Driving right now is pretty much out of the question and getting back home to see my doctor is gonna take a minute. The good news is that all the mountain passes are closed anyway, due to snow, and I can lay down with no problems at all! I have my laptop with me, I'm snowed in with my Mom, and I have a great opportunity here to get some music made.
I'd like to wish you all the most happiest of holidays and a happy new year!! I'd also like to say thank you. I realize that I'm not the best at posting musical progress, and my sporadic nature is probably pretty frustrating for some. I'm simply awful at keeping up with social media and my marketing skills are downright embarrassing. But regardless of those short comings, you all have continued to show me support... I am so thankful and appreciative of that. I can't begin to tell you how much this means to me. I'm always hesitant to voice my plans or commit to schedules. I have long been suspicious of my treasonous brain because it always seems to rebel against me. (or any authoritarian attitude) I grow weary of my own long winded explanations or attempts to defend missed deadlines. All I can do is try to learn from my mistakes and transform them into opportunities. The world can be brutal sometimes but not nearly as brutal as we can be towards ourselves.
So, with all of that said, I would like to express my gratitude to all of you. I hope that you can all surround yourselves with the people that love and support you the most. Try to lift up those that need help and celebrate every accomplishment. Smile like a maniac at the creeping darkness, for it picked a fight with the wrong person. (LOL, this is the part of the movie where we gear up and charge towards the madness).

Hello everyone, it's me again. I think it's almost time for a MC9.5 pt 2 update. I'll post a link soon! Krinkels honored me with the opportunity to help judge this year's Madness Day and I've been consistently blown away by all of the submissions. We're getting really close to bringing that process to a close. It has been incredibly difficult narrowing down all of those creations and I really hope that the entire Madness community is able to realize just how talented they are.
On a personal note (and in the spirit of narrowing things down) my pursuit of a future without stupid back pain is also approaching an end. Surgery is still highly possible but if it can slay these spine gremlins then I'm all for it!
It has been awhile since I proclaimed my undying love for all of you so...

I slaughtered a group of teddybears that seemed to be having a picnic. They were dressed in robes and chanting around a bonfire/picnic area, holding hands and speaking latin... I'm pretty sure they were witches. Teddybear witches having a picnic and summoning demons, most likely. I didn't have time to take pictures of the action but I stopped the ritual. No worries.
It was a great vacation! I walked around town, got a haircut, went to a museum, took a scenic detour up the side of a 12k ft mountain. Fun times!
Now, I'm back home. Krinkels sent MC9.5 pt2 updates and I'm excited to finish that up soon. Madness Day 2021 is almost upon us and Somewhere in Nevada 2 is on its way too! It's gonna be a busy week. I'll post updates very soon. Krinkels is planning a MD2021 livestream and I'll post links to that too.

I decided that I was losing my mind sitting around and waiting for doctors to call me back. For the pain in my back to stop. For something to happen.
I've been doing that for waaaay too long. I decided to make something happen. Take back some control over my life and stop getting down on myself for not being able to do anything. I can do stuff! I drove out to one of my favorite little mountain towns to have myself a good old fashioned adventure!
So far, it's pretty great! I brought my guitar, in case my fingers start getting antsy, and some notebooks to write out...whatever I feel like writing. I seriously cannot remember the last time I took an actual vacation. If my memory is anywhere close to right then it has been 5-10 years ago. But my concept of time is much like a dogs, so I wouldn't trust that.
I hope you're all doing great! It has been a blast releasing a new song, doing a live stream, and getting things ready for Somewhere in Nevada 2 and Madness Day 2021! I haven't mentioned this yet but Krinkels asked me to be a judge this year, so I'm going to be pretty busy next week. It's all very exciting.
I'll definetly post updates if I get mauled by a bear or in a vicious bar fight but I'm confident I'll come out on top in either situation.

I'm always messing around with my camera and photo editing software, so I'll try to remember to mention the ability to change merch artwork when I post random pictures. If you have any images that you'd like to see, or ideas, then please send them to me.

So, a few things. I can't change up the tiers/merch combo on patreon very much. I was hoping that I could add whatever I wanted to any tier but it's all limited by some cost effective algorithm. I guess that makes sense but I wanted to be able to send more merch with a higher frequency than it let's me and just pay the difference but sadly, no. The only thing I can really do is change up the images on already created merch designs. I can change the image at any time but if I change the item itself then I think the whole billing cycle starts over. Which is pretty lame. I guess I should get busy making merch through those other websites that are built for that...
I made a music video for my SiN2 submission but I might change it before I set a premiere date on YouTube. I'm gonna try to do that either by this weekend or next weekend. I'm still not sure but I'll include the link to what I have so far. I'm certain that other methods would be easier and more professional looking, in terms of making music videos, but I really enjoy making things this way.
Lastly, I have finally decided on a new album idea. I'm shooting for Halloween 2022 but will definetly be releasing more music in the meantime. What, if any, types of updates would you all want to see regarding new music? Video updates of the process from start to finish? (This would be a little bit more in depth than the MC soundtracks thus far) Photos of The Beard: From start to finish?
I'm open to any and all suggestions. I often come up with ideas and don't follow through (sorry about that) but maybe with a little teamwork, we can make it happen.
Oh, also, I'm going to post potential artwork that I think would look nifty on the existing patreon merch. Let me know what you'd prefer and I'll see about making those changes.

I hope you will forgive me and accept my deepest apologies for being so quiet lately. Life has been...challenging? Ya, that sounds about right. Included in these pictures is a somewhat hidden sidekick that appeared out of nowhere whilst I was walking around my old neighborhood. See if you can find him/her/it/them.
Update: I'm just about done with my contribution to the SiN2 album coming out this Madness Day. It took me a ridiculous amount of time to make and I'm still unsure if it's any good. Compared to the other submissions on the album... let's just say that the bar has been raised by every musician working on it.
MADNESS 9.5 PART2: I finally made a whole lotta progress with this soundtrack! I'm currently mixin-and-a-mastering my progress and will soon submit it to the one and only Krankelstank for consideration. Once I get some feedback from that awesome dude then I'll see about posting an update video here.
Other stuff: I've been on a leave of absence from work because of a faulty spinal cord. I'm trying to return it to Amazon but I can't figure out how to ship it without dying. Dealing with the healthcare system in the U.S. is a special kind of nightmare, reserved only for the most devoted of sadists. I went home early on June 19th and haven't been back since! I was only able to get any help until very recently and it turns out that I need some surgery-ing on my back.
Once again, I would like to say THANK YOU for your support through the good times and the bad. Due to your generous and amazing patronage, I've been able to hold the debtors at bay whilst I navigate through this mess. You have no idea how much I appreciate you all.

So, I was at work, doin stuff, came home and did some more stuff and went to bed with a sore body. I woke up with excruciating pain in my back and not being able to walk very well at all. Sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, and lying down are all incredibly painful. I'm working towards seeing a doctor soon but I haven't been able to work very much on music due to the sitting down problem. I'll keep you all posted on how things go and I'm anticipating that sitting down won't be so painful over the next few days as I rest my back. That's where I'm at so far. Thank you all for your continued support and I can't wait to get back to work!

The time has come to start my series of tutorials. They are, by no means, expert tutorials but they are intended to show people how I figure things out, how I think of sound, and how I either gently nudge or PUSH the song elements into the places I need them to be. There will be mumbling on a massive scale, horribly embarrassing mistakes, confusing rants about nothing, and self important talk about music as a force of nature.
There will also be links to purchase everything I use to get things done.
It will be painful but I think I can do it
Tutorial #1. A breakdown of MC10 and a basic basic distorted exploration.
I also mentioned a teir restructuring. That shouldn't take too long but if you're a patron as of right now, and aren't able to view the tutorial once I've posted it, then I beg you to let me know so that we can fix that. I've just about got the video done. It shouldn't take this long but I get stuck on these minuscule details that make about a tenth of a difference to the overall sound. I follow these itsy bitsy details down their little rabbit holes and I end up digging in the dirt while the actual song is like a thunderstorm above me. I shall look skyward and lasso that monster rather than putz around with rabbits. In the meantime, I made you something to look at!

Sorry for the delay in updates but here's a NEW update! Napalm Rain is 98% complete. It isn't perfect but alas, it never will be. And I do a disservice to everyone by thinking that I have to horde all my projects away (with my pot of gold) until I think I've ironed out every wrinkle. For, isn't it the flaws in things and people that make us special? Somebody said that, once... so I might have me it uploaded this morning before work or tonight after work.
Next up, MC9.5 part 2. Updates. Much like the Napalm Rain debacle, I've been recording my work, or trying to, on MC9.5.2 in the hopes that I could send the perfect progress video. Downloading video editing software to make the videos more fun with less time showing me staring at a computer screen and more time showing those eureka moments. Much like a highlight video. But I get ahead of myself, run back around behind myself, and pinch my own buttocks causing only confusion and delays.
I am also working on 2 other projects but I will have to check with the creators to see if they would be alright with me adding updates for those as well.
It has been a bad month for people named me and the month before wasn't much better. I'm sorry for not being around more often and I will always strive to remedy that. I have big plans for the future and I hope that each of you will be here to enjoy that journey with me.
