Clay Golem (complete)

At last, the clay golem TG/TF is finished! Now we see the sculpture in various stages of completion and neglect as our sculptor discovers the magical powers stored deep within the clay. I also made a few tweaks to the color and shading. The hair and nails got some extra attention, per the commissioner’s notes. It helps to have another set of eyes, whether they’re paying you or not! I probably had every intention of making the nails darker, but I might not have remembered to color them at ...

Sometimes I draw real people, and I wonder if it’s creepy if I don’t actually know them! This is a non-binary cashier at Trader Joe’s who seemed genuinely psyched that one of my canvas grocery bags was Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom themed.

Clay Golem progress

I’m back with the little bit of artwork I squeezed in during my week off. I put down some base colors, then worked over them in gouache (my procreate brush of choice), then shaded it with more gouache. Counting the sketch layer, that’s FIVE WHOLE LAYERS! That’s a lot for me. Anything more than three seems extravagant, but this is a commission after all. I’ll probably space these out a little more so I have room for a slight background.

After visiting an amateur magician’s act, Angela and Rosemary can’t help but be a bit…critical of the supposed magic on display. Unfortunately, for them, the magician overhears – and more that makes up for their lack of skill in magic tricks with their hypnotic talents. It may surprise you all to learn that I’m excited for Mario Kart World. I will be getting everybody sick new fits by eating burgers. And there’s also racing involved? And there are rumors of cow!

I don’t know why I did this, but I know that this is as much work as I’m willing to put into it. Bel has the added insult of not being the “sinister” hand, but Angela is canonically left-handed. Cif (remember him??) has the added insult of not being included, denying him the ultimate proximity to his not-so-secret crush. Nobody’s really happy with this arrangement, but George and Shelley are super not thrilled to,be feet.

The very early stages of a TGTF sequence. A sculptor gets his hands on some enchanted clay, determined to create his masterpiece. The more clay he gets on himself, though, the less interested he becomes in his sculpture. The clay is absorbed into his skin, and she soon self-sculpts into a female clay golem.

Axe Maiden Saga Continues?

Who remembers the Axe Maiden Magic Lesson /epilogue/post-epilogue story (part 1)? Well here’s some more! After teleporting around like Nightcrawler, Winifred taunts Angela into removing her armor for a “fair” fight. Can Winifred stand a chance against a vulnerable but faster foe? Find out once I summon the will to write! (I prefer the drawing part to the writing.)

Someone commissioned an option in Angela’s Magic Lesson that’s remained untouched since 2013. I thought the hair on fire option would’ve piqued someone’s interest sooner! Better late than never, right? (sketch included!)

Blueberry Turnover

Here’s the thing, I already did a blueberry TF in Angela’s Magic Lesson, but what if I was asked really nicely to do a slightly different one? Not likely Rosemary will show up in the final product, not even in the epilogue. But how could I not do anything with the mother/daughter matching tracksuits?
