This summer I adopted a kitten. I named him Robert. He's 7 months old now, so he's getting long and tall, but still so full of energy. If you've had cats before, none of this is new. You know. I don't gotta tell you how fun kittens are, right?

Sports Tears
When I moved back to Brooklyn last year, I decided a couple of things: 1) I wanted to live in a great neighborhood; and 2) I wanted to get season tickets to the New York Liberty (WNBA team).

This was from Jillian Sweeney's 2013 performance art/dance piece Vulture-Wally at St. Marks Church in NYC. I co-wrote and directed this piece, and Jillian asked if I could write a hymn that breaks down.
I've never written or even studied music. So I told Joseph that the only way I could think to write a song was to listen to a bunch of hymns and operas and try to find and interesting musical phrase to build a song upon.
