Another headbase I am getting ready to release. This will be a PLA+ base with TPU parts. More on this as soon as I finish it 😊

Toy sample progress & revisions

Ignore the fact that the arms and head are not attached correctly. Going over a lot of revisions on the paint job until we get it just right. Manu went a little to cool on the grey tones so getting that changed. Getting the prototype done right is crucial before getting these produced in larger quantities in vinyl. The sample is just resin to see it all together in hand first. Excited for this project 😊

Changes 👀

Working on making the whole face mask/eyes easy to swap out and offer a variety of looks. Will go over what I’m doing soon 👏

3D printed frame

Decided I wanted a bit more structure for the mesh eyes in my TPU/foam heads. Created a 3d printed frame, wrapped black vinyl and glued the mesh eyes in. Creates a really strong frame to glue into the head.

Working on an inner structure

I like to do a mix of both flexible and rigid pieces. Both belong together and trying to do a good mix of both. On this fox head I’m trying to create an area where it’s easy to add eyes from the back while still giving the TPU a bit more structure without adding much weight. Printing this at the moment.

Collie variation

Going to see about making a few different heads and tails to start with. This way I can re use the body but alter a few things to make more species. So excited about this action figure project.

Will print this one out as a test to see it all together.

It's March! Life updates

Time for a quick update on what is going on with me at the moment. Said goodbye to my only 2 employees at Mixedcandy and oh boy it has hit me hard. They are both very close friends so them leaving out of state is hitting me harder than expected. Spent the past 2 months with them as much as possible before they made their departure but now the shop is so quiet. So just wanted to keep everyone up to date that if I post a bit less it is not because I am ignoring anyone it is because I have taken...

It’s Milo

Say hello to Milo tiger. He’s my latest sample part of the collie line. Waiting on the cheetah and snow leopard then I can start working on the kickstarter soon.

Potential idea 💡

Working in an inflatable head you can wear. Very very early stages as there are a lot of steps to take before we get a sample. I love the idea of inflatable costumes but most heads tend to be latex and sadly I’m very allergic. But vinyl I have zero reaction to so I wanted to try a new project. More soon 😊

Colors!

Working on a few jawset variations. Will have these up on Etsy as soon as I take photos. Will have 3 variations of colors to start with and slowly add from there.

These are for the Etsy grumpy and happy hyena base.

Will work on a tutorial on how to make a jawset fit a head base 😊

Preview of Tiger toy

Another Toy in the works but going through a few revisions first (I tend to do a few passes until the company gets it just right. Re draws are very important). Here is a sneak peek of what’s coming soon 😊 fully articulated doll like the collies.

Modeling teeth for my bases

Working on making teeth with gums that fit my current bases. Starting with the lower jaw first and releasing those as soon as I can on Etsy. Will be default start with pink gums and white teeth. Will offer other gum colors at a later date 😊.

Few suits completed + changes

Trying to wrap up work in quite a few fursuits that were just missing their heads. We have about 6 more at that same stage now so will be finishing one after another.

Mixedcandy said goodbye to one of our employees this last Friday. So we are now a team of 3. But once February ends we will only be a team of 2. Dragon/Fox head base

Early stages of the dragon fox head base I am working on. Still sculpting so it will be going through a few revisions before calling it done 😁.

New nomad sculpt tutorials

Working on newer basic nomad sculpt tutorials. Since TikTok went away all my older ones were deleted. Plus the app has changed a ton so need to show how the new one works. Will keep them short and easy to follow :)

Max Collie 🐶

Max, our inflatable, has arrived. We designed this toy and have just received the first sample from a new company we're working with. He's 4 feet long. We'll provide more information on how to get one from us soon 🥰

Wolf action figure design

Been wanting to make an articulated toy since forever and now I have a chance to do so. Think like 90s style ninja turtles action figure where the arms, legs and head would move. This is what I’m going for with this. I did add the wrist movement so it can fully rotate on the toy. These will be made out of vinyl once we start our production run. Need to wait on the fully painted prototype and go from there. Will also offer blank versions of these.

Collie sample is done

Excited to see the sample in hand. Really like this newer company, since they are much easier to work with. This one is a 4 foot toy with floppy ears that move. Plan to get a few other examples from this company and go from there. Hopefully I love the quality in person as it’s the company I want to use for my kickstarter 🐶

Still waiting for the other 2 designs from the previous company and so can compare them all 😊

2 more tail cores in the works

Getting 2 more tails done with inflatable cores. Excited to see how these turn out. Once I have the samples in hand I will be able to make patterns for the covers.

These once I place a bulk order will be available to buy along with the pattern for the cover.

Inflatable tail cores

Working in inflatable tail cores for our costumes. Excited to try these for a lighter feeling tail with bounce. These will also be sold here and later on through Etsy 😊 will be making them in a few shapes. These are meant to be covered with fur.

Inflatable update :D

The collie is taking shape and really happy with how they are making the shape for this one. This is the second company as I have 2 companies going head to head with designs to pick the best one of the 2. Overall this company has been really easy to talk to and get the idea from drawn art to reality. It has helped a ton being able to model it in 3D as it shows the shapes much easier meaning less revisions.

The ears will have a bit of movement which is really neat creating that nice flop...

Last update before I fully finish this 😊

Plan to keep pushing this design, texturing and getting it ready to go by next weekend. Heading down to my moms for the holiday so will spend a bit of time on this character.

Hard to describe how crazy excited I am to make an action figure in a way 🥹

Re working the body

Still working on the body, less chibi but working on the legs next. Working on hammering out the look first and then tinkering with proportions. The chibi look was cute but very limited on movement.

Going to continue working on it during my Xmas break.

Vinyl figure in the works

Started sculpting the articulated figure I plan to get made as an articulated vinyl toy. This is a huge step for me as I have been wanting to enter the vinyl space for a while. Movable arms, legs and head. Very much a super early work in progress as I started on this today. Will work on this sculpt while out for Xmas break.

So excited about this project 😊

2 new colors

The collies are now in 3 colors. These 2 are the new ones. Getting a tiny alteration done then these will be on their way to us.

We are so excited to open these for pre orders next year. Working on getting their clothing figured out 😊

Kitty head kits (respond below)

Wanted to get an idea how many here would be interested in one of the new kitty head kits. I am still working on the eye puck area but will be selling the TPU base with ears, nose and eye mesh.

Company is sending previews already which is fantastic. I am so excited for this toy. Now to wait on the sample in white to approve body and go from there.

If this company wows me more than the other I am doing a full switch over. But this is why I am making 2 companies go head to head and whoever wins the quality battle we will stick with them for the kickstarter :).

Collie Inflatable in the works 😊

Pinning two companies head to head to compete against each other to see who does the best job. This one will be another 4 foot inflatable toy 🧸 order was started today so hope to have a sample in hand by next month.

Working on a few designs before we open up our kickstarter. If kickstarter does well we will have a lot more in term of designs and potentials for giants later next year 👀
