Fishnets & Leather for Mr. Wayne - WIP Pencils

I straight up just had a vision of this image one day and had to put it to paper (or tablet screen, as the case may be). Took longer than I would’ve liked but it was worth it for the final result. This also gave me a few other ideas; I think the next Gotham one I do will involve either Bruce or Nightwing in a Gotham City Sirens situation, especially considering how well Poison Ivy’s vines lend themselves to bondage 😈.

Miranda Gets Comfortable - completed!

Had a lot of fun experimenting with the pencils on this one, I think it fleshed out the shading and lighting really well. I’m definitely getting much more used to digital coloring. I toyed with the idea of positioning an out of focus lover off to the side and maybe some liquid love on Miranda’s face and body…thoughts?

Leather - completed!

Since the paying client for this one is helping me with some free marketing on this one,I decided to go ahead and just make this a freebie for everyone. Flip through for all the WIP; I tried out my pencils-blending method on this one and it worked out fantastic. I definitely will adjust my set-up with it so I can lean into it for better effect, but this was a good trial run. Leather WIP - flats

Normally a WIP would be for upper tiers, but I’m posting the uncensored progress on my other social pages so, fuck it I’ll make the uncut stuff available for everyone this time. Finished product should be done within days (if that) as I’m working on this as a commission for some free marketing. Wish me luck!

Leather WIP - inks

Line art on this one was fairly easy (with the exception of the fishnets) but it still took a minute around other projects. Can’t wait to get the colors done; the customer who commissioned this has been enthusiastic about the results to say the least. Tell me what you think!

Leather - WIP pencils

Been working on this for a `Twitter fan helping me with some marketing action (which I clearly need). Started with some photos she shared and worked my way into something closer to my artistic sensibilities. Going for a dark image with some bright flashing light sources for stark contrasts. Let’s see how it turns out!

Naughty Pixie Bianca - WIP

Kinda fell behind on posting this stuff, but I’ve really gotten into this particular piece; especially with the giant difference the new brushes have made for me. Can’t wait to get the color into this one!

Naughty Fairy Bianca - WIP pencils

I bought a whole new set of brushes earlier this week which included a mechanical pencil brush. This is fantastic for me as mechanical pencils were typically what I used irl on hard copy pencil art and I have been struggling with the pencil brushes Procreate comes with. As a result, this piece is already coming out much cleaner and more smooth than what I’ve been sketching thus far. Bianca is coming out beautiful, and I can’t wait to show this piece off in final.

First Lessons - process

Started my thumbnails for First Lessons, the debut comic for my art page AND Miranda and her friends. Hope everyone enjoys the story as it unfolds; I’m certainly enjoy9ng laying it out for myself so I can begin the actual page work. Expect a concept piece or two for some of the other characters showing up as I prep. In the meantime, I’ll probably knock out another Naughty Pixie or two 😉.

I’ve been batting this idea around for a while and I think I’ve got enough general concepts now to take a crack at it. Where Kingdoms Touch concept - full project

Man, even the signature shows how much I’ve shifted in style and approach as I worked on this. Life slowed me down a bit when I first began work on the first page, but the other two seemed to breeze right by. WTK Concept page 3 - final art

At long last, it is complete. I have been dabbling with this concept work on and off for k0nths, but the last few stretches have actually gone by pretty quick. Bodes well for future work seeing as how I have a whole 20+ page comic plotted for Miranda (storyboard thumbnails and concept pieces coming soon!), and I really don’t want that project to take forever. I almost feel like these flats would be good enough to post for the comic, but I’m extra like that so I need to do my lighting and effects and whatnot. My girlfriend- the model for our lovely, freshly-fucked elf woman here - is loving what I’ve done with this, so I’m clearly doing something right lol. Finished product coming up soon!

This one took a minute but was well worth it. I’m very happy with the lighting on this one, though I wish I’d done the clouds a little better around the edges. Still, the client is happy which is ultimately what matters 😁

Line art is complete and ready for colors! Dinah’s fishnets provided the challenge I figured they would, but they’re looking good so far. The buildings actually came out better and more detailed than I initially intended, so there’s that. Should be complete by the end of the week!

WTK concept test page 2

This one came out much faster and easier than the last one (hence, the point of practice and concept testing). I’m really happy with the way this is coming out, which has built into even further excitement as I begin scripting First Lessons, the first comic to feature Miranda Goode and my very first full digital comic! Miranda is coming (pun intended)

Here’s my test sketch work on Miranda Goode in preparation for her debut comic, First Lesson! I should start having pages ready soon, and I may even throw some character designs here for some of the other characters, depends on how I decide to move forward. Meantime, here’s some tease work and I definitely want to ink and color these at some point as pinups. Why waste good work?

WKT concept work page 2 WIP

Here’s the line art and pencils for the second page of my fantasy comic concept work. Still on the fence about how precisely this scene/scenario will transfer over to the actual comic; I’m toying with some ideas for an alternate take on this, but the basic premise will remain. Either way, I’m getting some great practice with layout design, perspective angles, anatomy and backgrounds. Can’t wait to nail down the color on these, and you can expect the next page soon!
