So much of my job entails filming! I film so often that much of it ends up never being seen by anyone but me. It's been a wonderful outlet of creativity to share such footage here with you! Other pieces of footage, like this one, get makeovers, or are reimagined. I spent a lot of my work week gathering, editing, and rethinking footage.

I'm beginning my next work of art! First up is to sketch out the mountain using a grid to keep the aspect ratio, taking the size from less than a half sheet of printer paper to approximately 16" by 44".

There's a process to selecting moments of videos for public consumption.
Normally, I select a moment from a video that I've created specifically for Patrons. That moment becomes a GIF.
This time, I set out with the intention of creating a GIF. Rather than taking a GIF from a work that already exists, I had the vision of a GIF first!

One of the biggest challenges for me as an artist has been photographing my work.
As an undergraduate in my senior year, I had an entire semester long class devoted to the professional aspect of being an artist, which included how to photograph your work!

While reading "Grapefruit A Book of Instruction and Drawings", by Yoko Ono, I came across a piece called "Water Piece" with one word of instruction: Water.
I visualized this as a verb. The act of watering. The plants, the garden, the lawn. I immediately went out to water the garden and filmed from the plant's perspective. Here's the result.
I enjoy walking and exploring. This walk is highlighted by a backdrop of cloudy skies and bricks and street art!

It's a holiday weekend here in the US. Memorial Day weekend. I anticipated that all the local parks would be too full to thoroughly enjoy over the weekend, so I went out ahead of the crowds! It was warm, but rewarding because there was a nice cooling breeze! I hope that whatever you're doing this weekend, you find some peace and beauty, too!
