October 1, layout

I have a feeling, a good feeling, that this will be my last sick day. I can feel it in my bones. This is it. Tomorrow I'll be well enough to go to the studio. 4 reals.

Sept 23, weeklong catch up and penciling

September 15, scripting (and talking about traveling)

Since I would be leaving for a New York wedding at 7am on Friday, that meant I'd be spending Thursday shipping out orders, so my husband took over coloring duties for the comic again this week. Super fast update! Because my husband wants to eat dinner and watch a movie! 

I did the interview! They told me not to swear since it's public radio! And I swore! BECAUSE I CAN'T GO FIVE MINUTES WITHOUT DROPPING AN F-BOMB, APPARENTLY.

September 9, inking

Inked two more pages, so that's three done out of five. If I hadn't had a doctor's appointment, I probably could have gotten all of them done. Harroo.

September 5 - 8, shipping and comics progress

As predicted, Friday was devoted entirely to shipping. Hooooo dang, so much shipping. Good lordy bagordy.

I'm trying this new thing where I don't look at any screens two hours before I go to bed, which means that I haven't been making my getting-in-to-bed-and-just-remembered-i-need-to-update-patreon updates the last few days. But rest assured, I haven't been slacking!

Sept 1 - Scripting

Over the weekend I finished coloring the comic and today I worked on not one but TWO scripts. 

Not only did I finish next week's script but Matt and I finally banged out a satisfactory draft of that one script we had so much trouble with last week. It only took us FIVE REWRITES to get it. That is officially the most we have ever edited a script. And even now it's only "ok", not exactly brilliant.

August 28, Inking

'm a day behind. Wednesday is inking day and Thursday is supposed to be  coloring day. That means I gotta get coloring done on Friday, which is  shipping day, so this might be another get-it-done-on-the-weekend comic.

August 26, Layout

Ok, so yesterday's script? The one with three, starting-from-scratch, revisions? 

Yeah, no. 

It just wasn't coming together and it's for a product that we both feel like we COULD do a good comic for, but it just wasn't going to happen in time for this deadline. 

SO INSTEAD I'm drawing this RIDICULOUS script that Matthew and our friend Brendan wrote together as a joke. It's completely absurd and silly.

August 25, penciling & last minute changes

I'm real excited about the comic going up tomorrow. 

But at the last minute, I realized I'd missed out on a really obvious opportunity to synch a visual joke back up to an earlier mention, so I had to re-draw the final panel. 

This was my first day getting back in the saddle of writing a script again (the script for tomorrow's comic was written before I went on my trip) and hoooooo boy that was rough.

August 23, inking & coloring

Yesterday, Friday, a bunch of stuff outside of work came up, so a huge chunk of my day was cut short, and then what time I *did* have in my office was devoted to shipping out orders for Periscope Studio's and my stores. So I didn't even get to touch the comic at all. 

But that's ok, THAT'S WHAT THE WEEKEND IS FOR. 

And lo! I hath finished the inking AND the coloring!

August 21st, inking

Inked the remaining 3.5 pages today, out of the full six. That just leaves .5 pages to ink tomorrow and then I can start coloring! 

I should have been able to completely finish inking everything today, but I got hella distracted with trying to get a bunch of for-profit websites to take down my "I Want to Live" comic and pay me for using it. My husband actually got 9Gag to take my comic off their site, which is, like, UNHEARD OF. I don't know any of my other friends that have managed that....
