Finished prepping the guest comics that'll run while I travel and take time off for four weeks.
Matt and I had a hella stressful night trying to figure out my travel plans to New York in September for my art show and friend's wedding. It's half past midnight, so technically it's July 18th but I'm not a real technical person so let's just count this as still Thursday. Two of five pages are inked and had foreground figures colored, still gotta fill in the background colors.
Today I recorded a podcast with Sex Nerd Sandra in front of a live audience and I think it went pretty ok. I got free drinks out of it so I ain't complaining.

Five pages penciled. It's Wednesday, which *should* be an inking day, so I'm a day behind. But that's because getting that four page guest comic done bumped into my time for this one. Over the weekend I inked and colored a four page guest comic for another site (excerpt pictured here!) which I was really proud of for, like, half a day but now I'm super self-conscious about my art. The kid changes size dramatically over the course of the comic, starting at hip-height and finishing at shoulder. Which, of course, I didn't realize until I'd turned it in. Augh. AUGH. And there were also some stiff poses that I've only just now figured out how to loosen up.

It's a feeling that I've mostly lost over the last few years, but this last week and especially today... it felt really good.
I keep trying to describe it, but my descriptions sound pretentious and overly flowery.

Mondays are scripting days!
When I started OJST over a year ago, plotting out each comic was such an ordeal. I'd write way too much and then break everything down with thumbnails in my sketchbook, slicing apart and piecing together the guts that would become a page. It was completely trial and error.

Got started scripting this comic about how to be a good strip club patron, even though it's not next week's update (which is another review). I emailed a few former and current Portland dancers for the advice they'd give to a first time visitor.

For weeks now I'm supposed to have tried out these anal beads but I kept putting it off and off. Today I inked the remaining five pages of this six page comic and then… rather than relaxing this evening, I just… kept working. Till midnight. So now the comic is done. It’s all colored.
I still gotta turn it into the web-size version and make the preview graphics but, I mean, it’s all colored. All six pages. I got a six page comic done in three days. That’s really good. I’m ahead of schedule. Two weeks in a row, now! Hoo dang. I like this. I like it a lot.
