I'm not sure if anyone really noticed, but I deliberately draw Daphne's glasses different for C&D, since it's in a medieval setting. Glasses with legs were uncommon at the time... actually, glasses in general were really uncommon. But they were often secured with hoops that looped around the ears.

I hope the new update schedule isn't too confusing for everyone... granted it's just a one day shift in how Side Dishes updates, so it's not like it's going to be something that causes a lot of trouble. I decided to go with "Zenny" as the form of currency for this game, since I've seen Zenny used as currency in a lot of Capcom games.

Because of the addition of my wife to the staff as my inker, my update schedule has been rearranged just a bit. So that's why we're seeing this update today... I've already pencilled the next page of Side Dishes 5, and that will be posted tomorrow instead of its usual Sunday update.

 I wasn't sure what kind of food Helen should be eating for this page... but when it really comes down to it, nothing really says "cafeteria food" quite like a Square-tangle of Pizza. Although now that I think about it, the pizza I got at school pretty much always had the pepperoni in small bits, as opposed to proper slices, but it plays better visually to put the pepperonis in big obvious slices.

To be honest, I kind of got the art in that last panel wrong. Shotred wanted the goblin to have a sort of "vacuum suction" thing going on, but he also wanted the view to be from the side instead of straight on, and I didn't notice my mistake until we were too far into the art to really correct it. Still, I think it mostly works, though it is a bit unintentionally funny...

Now, bringing her on as the inker for the comic is actually a Patreon goal we've very nearly reached, but she actually enjoyed inking the comic so much that she's going to be helping with inks regularly. So starting with page 8 of the next chapter, you'll see her taking on the role of inker while the comic continues.

I had this page of Side Dishes mostly completed already... I can actually do cel shading with just a mouse and get it looking mostly right, though it's really, really time consuming compared to using a tablet. But with the tablet I was able to finish all the extra details that would take obscenel...
