The V60 Technique Video

I just thought I'd post something here so that if people have questions, or want more explanation etc then I can answer them here.

There's a tonne that didn't make it into the video, because no one needs me rambling for 30 minutes about how much better a swirled bloom tastes than a stirred bloom, or about thermal loss during a pour from a pouring kettle etc. If you want more explanation or some discussion on aspects of the technique - just ask!

Hello all,

I wanted to just have a brief chat about sponsored videos. I'm probably going to be doing a few in the future, but wanted to talk to you all first to clarify a few things:

- No Patreon supported videos will ever be sponsored. If you've helped me buy a piece of kit to review then I don't think there should be any form of advertising on that video.

- These are typical YouTube sponsors, rather than coffee sponsors. Companies like Squarespace or Skillshare may want to...

What to review next?

So, I'm working away on the Ultimate Hand Grinder Showdown™ - but I want to start looking at what's coming up next.

One option is the Niche grinder, but I'm open to ideas and suggestions. It doesn't have to be comparisons, it can be a single product or a category.

What really helps is if you can go through the answers later and give a vote to any ideas you like by hitting the like button for it. (Helps me gauge the overall feeling of the group)

The grinders going into the review

I’ve now received all the grinders that I’m going to be testing, and experiments are underway. I thought it would be fun to share a sneaky peak with you all of which grinders are being compared.

I know there are some omissions but I don’t feel comfortable comparing many more at once without losing my mind or making an absurdly long video. In some cases grinders simply weren’t available to me.

Sharing the Q&A Answers to all Patrons

I've had quite a few requests from people asking if there's any opportunity to post the Q&A answers to wider patrons. Because the top tier is locked in terms of numbers, some feel frustrated at being unable to participate. I thought I'd put the question to you. Obviously this wouldn't open up the taking of questions from other tiers.

Thank you all for making this possible - I know you all want the Ultimate Hand Grinder Showdown, but I really wanted to get a benchmark for the best cheap grinder first.

Sidenote: I'm glad I did this first, because I learned a lot of lessons in making this video, that should make the next round of testing more enjoyable and helpful too. I know this is a flawed video in many ways, but it is part of a journey!

February Q&A Time
