The broken glass concept was something original that I didn't have reference for when I started it, so it's going to be interesting to see how it turns out when all the details get laid in. I'm going to keep chasing my instincts with it and see where it all leads.

One of the influences for Angelarium comes from the Sublime art movement. This piece in particular is drawing inspiration from Sublime artists for its color palette and textures.
It's wild to imagine that a pattern of colors and material could somehow embody the feeling of being overwhelmed by a huge and indifferent world, but that's the power of art. A couple of months ago, I merged all the different print subscriptions down from a range of options and prices to a single, straightforward option. Today, I'm doing the same for digital rewards. People commonly assume that artists know what their work will look like before they start to draw. For the most part, this isn't how anyone works. The images that flash through our imagination rarely, if ever get translated down to paper like a projection machine. It's not that it doesn't happen like that, but it is very rare.

As I started to build color into this piece, I started to notice a desire to make it look more and more like a brain. Ein Sof represents the seat of the human experience, so creating a visual parallel with a brain feels fitting.

I had an eagle-eyed subscriber point out a wrinkle in my current plans.
Since the billing went monthly, it also switched to charging at the beginning of the month instead of at the end. That means everyone subscribed to the COLLECTOR tier was being charged prior to knowing what the print would be.
To fix this, I'm creating a calendar that will announce which prints are going to be available far in advance.
The Ein Sof painting you guys might be familiar with is one of the few key paintings I didn't paint myself. That one was done by Noah Bradley.

Hey guys,
The old Legacy Print reward tiers were erased to clear room for the new version. If you want prints in the mail, you need to re-subscribe to the new reward tier to continue receiving them.
I raised the price of the Legacy Print tier to $40 to match the amount we charge at conventions. They've been that price for years but I didn't want to upset the subscription program if people were enjoying it.

I made a few tweaks to the content as I'm pushing forwards into the final phases of this painting. The main thing I wanted to address was getting something interesting happening with those arms. I feel like that's going to be an iconic design choice for this character moving forward.

Whenever I think about health and healing, I think about a person's insides.
