Weapon Spring Cleaning

This week I worked on some weapon "clean-up."

After taking a break from testing the old stuff, I've noticed that some issues suddenly stick out like a sore thumb once I get back to it, so I decided to literally take every weapon apart and brush it up.

Paingun Process

Fun fact: the Paingun HUD animation only uses 4 frames in total, which is by far the lowest frame count of any weapon in Hedon (mostly because it doesn't require a reloading animation). At the same time, it was also the hardest weapon to draw so far.
You can see that one of the major problems was how to place the front handle so as the arm doesn't cover up the important spinning barrel which gives visual feedback when firing.

The Paingun

Phew. I've waited years to make this, but here it is, at last! The initial slot 4 weapon, which is (not surprisingly) - the Paingun!

Since I'm working on art assets ahead of their levels, this comes a bit early and actually gets introduced in a lore friendly way around half way into Episode 2. But yeah, here it is. I'll be spending quite some time on the animations and implementation of this beast, but I'll keep you posted.

Shooting Fixer

Another Unreal beta track, this time by the other man/legend, Michiel van den Bos.

With this, Map12 is finished, and the testing session will commence. Man, it's been a wild ride, I think I worked an average of 12 hours a day for the past month to get this out in time. Hopefully in a few months I'll be able to ditch work and focus entirely on Hedon, so thanks a million for supporting me, you're making this possible!

3D Print Zan Bust

Hey guys, I'm glad to finally share this with you! For those who aren't active in the Hedon Discord, Flesh Forge has been working on a Zan bust model for 3D printing, and it's finally complete!

If you want to get one you can check the link and ask directly. They're all 3D printed and individually processed by hand, after which you can opt to get a painted or unpainted version (check the author's page to see what his other works look like too).

New Tileset and Critter

As the tradition has been so far, I made new textures, this time for a crypt. I've also created a brand new critter, called "Shadowleech" (a mix of a bat and a leech).

The crypt part is almost done, I'll get to the mansion and the surrounding courtyard soon.
