I love Fiona's expressions in this strip, so I can't believe I missed this one.

Okay, please read the post below and review the first image.

Long story short, I kind of like the idea that Fiona picks a shorts, cape, and top outfit now, and then picks up the dress outfit later when she feels more confident about herself.

On the other hand, I still really like that dress, so maybe we stick with Option 1 and she gets forced into that dress now.

So in hindsight, I probably rushed into that last poll about the outfits Fiona tries on too quickly, because after the results started coming in, I realized that the most popular ones are outfits Fiona would really prefer over the dress i was going to use as her new outfit!

Restricting what Fiona would prefer to another class would work, but I didn't want to do that for all the outfits she tries on (Outfits 1,3,10, possibly 12).

So I decided to make a bunch of skimpy outfits that ...

Also, the comic has been given a resolution upgrade! From now on all strips will be 1600 pixels wide instead of the original 1280.

Being Fiona - Lisa and Sophie's Outfits

Choosing Sophie's new outfit was easy, I just used the outfit I had sketched for Fiona that I thought better suited Sophie.

I had more trouble with Lisa's new outfit, but I think I've figured out two that I really like. I also like the idea that if Lisa supercharges her gauntlets, she could cover her entire body in magic armor.

One issue with option B is that it's the same top as Sophie's top, but I think that the outfits are different enough that it probably doesn't matter.

So it's Going to be the Dress

So I did a few more test sketches and I'm finding that I'm having a lot more fun drawing Fiona in the dress compared to my other 3 favorites.

Silly thing is, I wanted to move away from a flowing outfit for Fiona because every time I pose her in Daz3D I have to run a cloth simulation. But the results I get after running the simulation on this dress have generally been looking great, so maybe it's worth it?

Anyhow, it's that first image that really convinced me to go with the dress....

So after the visit to the hot spring, Fiona's going to visit a clothing shop with Lisa (about 18 strips from now).

Way back in March, about a month into drawing this comic, I got sick and tired of Fiona's costume. So I added a scene into the strip where Fiona picks out a new one. Six months later I've finally reached the point where I can start posing and sketching it.

So there will be some Red Edition strips that I won't be able to include in the base comic. This is one of those strips.

With these, I need to perform a balancing act of advancing the plot without including any plot that's important to the base comic. The girls' conversation continues on Monday, which will be another Red Edition only comic.

These will be numbered in the format of 38.1, 38.2, so that I don't mess up or get out of step with the main comic's numbering.

Thinking About Lisa *Minor Spoilers*

So in a future strip, like 8 or 10 strips from now, I want to cut to a shot of Lisa in real life while Lisa and Sophie are talking.

This means I need to decide on what Lisa looks like, so I created a series of sketches.

Lisa, in real life, is a cute and nerdy girl from Mississippi currently studying computer science at a university in the pacific north-west.
