You can clearly see that Julie is giving our main character a warm hug!  The close embrace and the emotional expression on her face...  It's such a wholesome scene, I'm beginning to tear up a little bit :')

Anyway, progress on the next update is moving along smoothly.  The artist is on a short personal break which I'll be talking about soon in the next public update.  There's no cause for alarm here but there is just a little bit more art that needs to be complete after the artist is back.  But after that's done, the update should be nearing completion soon.

Hey Patrons!

Here's a look at a new interaction with Julie in the kitchen.  She's finally decided to get up from the couch in the living room from time to time ;)

Perhaps this interaction will escalate further?  Maybe I'll share a teaser for that as well before the update's out...

Progress on the new update is going smooth and the art, while still in progress, is shaping up quite well.

A Formal Progress Report | Travel, Julie, Release Window

Hey everyone!

Really quick, in the last post, I kept saying this was a first look at Beta 0.11.  Well, this is actually Beta 0.12!  Got my numbers a little mixed up...

Anyways, here's some more info on what's to come with Julie!

== Formal Attire ==

The main theme of this update will be date night with Julie.  She's a sophisticated lady who craves a nice romantic night out.  Even though things may not go as planned, perhaps you can still sweep her off her heels and create a night to remember!

This costume, unlike Linda's recent outfit, won't be a universal swap.  Meaning you can't just have Julie walk around in her dress all day.  However, triggering the 'event' will cause her to change outfits during a certain time of the day to trigger unique interactions!

== Travel Plans Are Cancelled ==

Lately, I've been talking about possible travel updates with plans of going outside of the house.  However, I'm just not really feeling that idea.

Part of the charm that I think HC has is the ability to experience so many various interactions within the confined space of the house.  So initially, this update was going to feature a new location outside of the house but instead, I'll be keeping things at home.

So how does a date night still work?  I have my ideas and I suspect the scene will be in a nice and private location ;)

If a sequel, spin off, etc of House Chores ever happens, maybe then I'll look at new locations. 

== Release Window ==

There's still a decent amount of planned artwork that needs to get completed so I don't feel comfortable yet giving a proper release date announcement.  But, given the theme of the date night, a release around Valentine's Day would be very fitting.  Almost like an unintended seasonal event.  

I ask for your patience as art and development continues on the update!  Things are chugging along but I do still need a little more time to make sure all of the ideas for this update can come to life.

House Chores Beta 0.11 | First Look!

Hey everyone!

Today I wanted to take a deeper look at the next update coming to House Chores, Beta 0.11!  

== Julie ==

One thing that is certain is Beta 0.11 will focus on Julie!  She'll be getting new interactions around the house including some on-screen scenes that are currently in progress!  With so many rooms, you have to make use of them all, right?

It's taken me a little longer to post this first look because I've been back and forth on if the main content of this update will focus on the "busted" storyline or the "travel" storyline like I mentioned in the previous update.

Luckily, at this point, I'm quite certain this will be a travel update with a brand new location that you'll be able to go to with Julie.  I feel it's important to learn a little bit more about her back story and this update will focus on that before any group activities begin.  She'll also need to wear an elegant new outfit for the occasion ;)

Once her new outfit is complete, I'll be sure to share it here for you all!

== Backgrounds ==

Since this is the first 'travel' update, there's a lot that I need to play around with and test.  But some of you might be wondering about the need for a new background.

I'm going to try using more traditional VN backgrounds for these new locations which means they're already complete!  But a top priority is making sure the backgrounds fit in and don't clash with the general art style of House Chores.

If I'm just not happy with the results, then maybe I'll make a quick pivot to the 'busted' storyline, hah!  Or maybe I'll need some extra time for a custom background.  I'll keep you all updated.

There's still some time to make those final decisions since the art that's currently in progress will work for either direction that the update goes in.

2023 Plans | Events, Secrets, New Faces

Hey everyone!

Today's update, I wanted to talk about my upcoming plans for House Chores moving forward next year!

== 2022 Thank You ==

Before I do that, I wanted to take some time and just thank everyone for playing and supporting House Chores this year.  There's been quite lot of new players/supporters and I appreciate that from the bottom of my heart.  It makes me happy to see what was originally meant to be such a short & small project grow into something larger!

But enough of the sentimental talk, you want to know about what's coming next!

== 2023 Update Contents ==

Most of the updates planned for 2023 will likely fall under 1 of the 3 following themes:

-- Busted --

With all 3 ladies having their 'home run' moments in-game, there's a lot of secrets being kept within the house.  Eventually, something's got to spill so expect some developments there ;)

-- Travel --

Being cooped up in the house all summer isn't a healthy way to spend it so I have some ideas for each character where they may decide to travel somewhere with the main character.  Like a short post-game story for each girl.

I want to keep House Chores as a close quarters-styled game so these new locations would just be seen during the travel events themselves.  This way, the overall scale/scope of HC still stays within reason!

-- New Faces --

Whether it's Linda's friendly neighbor, Emily's BFF, or even a special food delivery, I want to try and introduce a couple of new faces in 2023 for House Chores!

These encounters will be brief and will likely pair up with one of the original 3 ladies.  I think Julie/Linda/Emily could be heightened by other friends/acquaintances offering new unique situations.

Between these three types of themes, I think updates in 2023 are going to be a lot of fun!  I hope you all are looking forward to some of these ideas that might be making their way soon.

Beta 0.11.2 | Name/Role Change

Hey everyone!

I've updated the original version from Beta 0.11.1 to Beta 0.11.2.  This update adds the ability to change names/roles at any point of the game.  To change the name/role, on the options menu, click "Profile" and then you'll see the option just below where you can view each character's details.

I had been meaning to add this feature in Beta 0.11 but completely forgot so better late than never!  Thanks to those who reminded me!  

This feature is especially useful for when you use someone else's save file but want to customize the names/roles to your own liking.

House Chores - Beta 0.11 | Public Release!

The public release of House Chores - Beta 0.11 is available now for Windows and Android devices!

This update introduces the first swappable costume with Linda having a new casual look.  Switching to this costume will change her appearance in some old scenes as well as giving her a new unique scene as well!

Accessing this content is essentially a continuation of Linda's story so once you have had your 'home run' moment with her at night, continue talking to her to unlock this quest line!  The questline currently ends when she swaps back into her original outfit.

Due to the nature of this update, it is a bit shorter to complete as a lot of focus is on the refreshed older interactions as well.  My apologies if this comes as disappointing news. I do plan for the next update to focus entirely on new scenes/interactions (I'll talk about this this more in the next post).  But for Linda fans, and those who like seeing those tiny details changing depending on the situation, I hope this update scratches that itch!

As a reminder, if you're playing on Android, you may need to enable 'low quality mode' if your NSFW scenes show up as a black screen.  You can two-finger tap the screen to bring up the options and you'll find LQ mode in the Quality option.  Some PC users may need to toggle this on too.

Linda's storyline has received another continuation but this time, she's sporting a new casual look!

This is the first update that adds a swappable costume.  So once the criteria has been met, you'll be able to ask Linda to switch between her Default outfit or her new Casual one.

Overall, this update was very fun to work on!  It's technically been in progress for a couple years.  I knew I wanted Linda to have this outfit so some of her old scenes were designed with this variation in mind.  There are still a couple more interactions I'd like to add with this new outfit so it's possible that later updates expand the available options.

There's a lot of small dialogue changes and interactions in this update so I encourage you to explore various events with Linda in both outfits to get as much out of the update as possible.

Lastly, this update introduces the last planned room within the house (backyard TBD).  The Laundry Room is where a lot of the new content takes place and other characters may have events in there in the future as well ;)

In the last post I mentioned that I'm planning to release Beta 0.11 on Friday Nov 25th for $5+ HC Patrons!

I'm still targeting this release date, however, I may push the date back by a day or two depending on how smooth the finishing touches go.  So if you don't see the update live on Friday, don't panic!

As usual, the public release date will be 3 days after the $5+ release date.

Today I wanted to share a little progress report about the next update to House Chores!

== New & Old Art ==

With this update, there's new content but a lot of old content is also getting an alternate variation for the new Linda outfit.  In total, this update will add 1 brand new scene and 3 old scenes will be getting a costume variation (1 scene, 1 on-screen scene, 1 CG).

Fortunately, the art is just about finished which means I can get to the info that you all probably want to know!

== Release Window ==

The new House Chores should be releasing later this month!

The actual release date is not 100% certain just yet but I'm aiming to have it out for $5+ HC Patrons on/around Friday November 25th.

The specific date may change as the month goes on so stay tuned!

Hey everyone!

Here's another look at some of the new content coming in the next update of House Chores!

== New Location ==

The house is receiving another expansion with the laundry room this time.

Originally, this location wasn't actually going to have a map but I wanted to give players another place to explore as well as open up opportunities for more events & quests that could be involved here.  For example, maybe Emily will run into some trouble when she attempts her laundry in a later update ;)

The laundry room will also have a new chore with Linda.  Being able to do laundry, on top of helping with the dishes should make progressing through her chore requirements even faster!

== Release Window ==

The update does still need a little more time as the art isn't entirely finished.  You can expect to play this new House Chores update next month!

== Old Additions ==

In case you were wondering, this costume for Linda was planned quite a long time ago!  The OG artist for HC no longer draws for the game, however, even back then, we had discussed plans for this costume to eventually come to life.  So an older Linda scene has a new bonus option for you to try out!

One of her on-screen scenes will also feature the new costume as well!

== New Additions ==

This update isn't just about adding variations to old content.  There's also a new scene that will be exclusive to this outfit as well!

It is still being designed but this sneak peek will show you that Linda is ALWAYS accepting warm and comforting hugs in times of need ;)

== Progress ==

The update is still in progress!  I've been a little quiet on Patreon which I do apologize about.  There's just been so much going on this month but House Chores progress is chugging away as usual!

I do think I'll be able to announce a tentative release window soon so stay tuned for that announcement.

First Look! | House Chores - Beta 0.11

Hey everyone!

It's time to share a first look at the next update coming to House Chores, Beta 0.11!

== Linda ==

The summer heat is only ramping up making it way too hot for Linda to clean in her normal attire.  Dressing down is the only logical way to stay cool.  Especially with all of this intense cardio ;)

Beta 0.11 will introduce a new costume change for Linda after her main story is completed.  

Once fully implemented, switching to this outfit should end up replacing some of her normal activities.  Some of her older scenes will have some costume swapped versions while other brand new NSFW moments might appear too!

Some of Linda's older clickables will be receiving a visual adjustment as well!

== Release Window ==

The art is still heavily in progress with quite a bit more to get done so it's still a bit too soon to announce a release window.

This update will be a mix of old and new.  Some older scenes have had this costume variation already completed while brand new content is being designed as well.

Beta 0.10 is here and provides a proper conclusion to Emily's (solo) storyline!  This update picks up where her last update left off so continue interacting with her to see what new ideas she has cooking up in that creative mind of hers!

I had a lot of fun with this update.  Emily's story wound up being quite different from how I originally envisioned it but I'm very happy with the end result.  The idea to use the RPG Maker engine to explore her creativity I think adds a bit of fun humor to the story and helps spice things up a bit from the usual.

Keep in mind, this update is partially incomplete but I wanted to go ahead and publish the game now.  In the next day or two, I'll release Beta 0.10.1 which will add the ability to replay her scenes in just the regular (non fantasy) variations with custom dialogue.  So be on the lookout for that announcement!

My apologies for such a quiet build up to the release, it's a tricky month with scheduling but I've finally figured it (mostly) out.

House Chores - Beta 0.10 is planned to release Thursday, August 25th for $5+ HC Patrons!

The public release should be 4 days later, Monday, August 29th!

(There's always that possibility that I need an extra day or two to polish up the update but at this point a major delay won't be necessary)

I'm doing a 4 day gap here just in case another project of mine, Zombie's Retreat 2 releases in the same time frame.  That is still TBD.  But I'm very confident in House Chores releasing on schedule.

Short & sweet news post today but I wanted to announce that the next update to House Chores is planned to release later this month!

This update is pretty straight forward.  No new backgrounds or characters so the time has been spent on the NSFW scenes.  Don't expect every new House Chores update to release this fast but I'm hoping more updates can be on this ~2 month release window like my other projects often are.

Today I'm happy to share a first look at the next update coming to House Chores.  Beta 0.10.

== Emily ==

This update will introduce the conclusion to Emily's solo storyline!  Emily's imagination is quite the wild one.  I wonder what/where her new NSFW scenes will take place?

Her scenes are still a WiP.  The most challenging part is deciding what the fantasy variations will be.  There's just an endless amount of good options making it quite an overwhelming choice!

== What's Next? ==

With Emily's solo story finishing up in this update, that will make 3/3 of the women in House Chores.  So you might be wondering what I have planned afterwards.

The most obvious thing will be 3 + 4 person scenes.  After all, it's quite hard hiding secrets around such a small house with so many people...

But additionally, there is actually quite a lot that I still have planned.  Costumes, new characters, new locations.  These are all just some of the ideas.

This update brings a conclusion to Julie's main solo story in House Chores!  Unlike the yoga theme that her first half was focused around, this one takes place mostly at night!

My goal with this update was to add a bit of personalization.  So there are a few new blue/red heart choices that subtly affect dialogue and when you decide to talk to Julie will have some variability as to when/how you may experience the 'grand finale' scene.

With a proper conclusion to Julie's story, that now makes 2/3 of the main cast with complete solo stories!  *glances at Emily*

After Emily receives a conclusion to her solo story, I have a few more solo and group events planned so there's still plenty more fun to be had around the house!

Beta 0.9.2 || Hotfix Released!

Hey everyone!  Wanted to make a quick announcement that the Beta 0.9 release went live earlier today and I have just released a hotfix for both Windows/Android versions!

This hotfix removes a few particularly rough bugs.  Don't forget that House Chores has an updated Quality toggle in the settings so if you are having black screen issues, make sure this is enabled.

HC is pretty demanding on mobile too so some older devices may just not work despite that.  I'm looking into possibly adding a third 'no animation' mode or something but that will take some time to implement.

Patreon experienced some downtime shortly after the Beta 0.9 release so you may have missed the announcement. It's been a hectic morning...

Thank you to everyone who has played Beta 0.9 and reported bugs my way!  The build just dropped for $5+ HC Patrons so it will go public 3 days from now!  I hope you all enjoy =D

Hey everyone!

Julie's story has finally reached a (solo) conclusion!  That makes 2 of the main 3 cast complete!  This update has turned out to be a somewhat short one but it's a bit more condensed than usual.

I wanted to focus on some basic branching in this update so when you activate the 2nd new scene determines where it takes place and what outfit Julie is wearing.  The branches are small differences but should compliment the choices you made along the way!

There are a few tweaks I still want to make to Julie's content in future updates.  Similar to Linda, she'll probably get some new interactions sprinkled in too ;)

This scene is actually a variation so you'll be able to experience this pose in another location with a different outfit as well when the new update drops!

Action 'Packed' || Progress Report

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to share a brief update discussing the progress of this next update.  If you saw the last teaser, there's a 'hybrid' CG/Scene that will be in the new update.  However, I decided that I want an additional NSFW scene that feels a bit more 'climactic' similar to Linda's scene in her last update.

I think the pay off will be quite nice and should help the update feel a bit juicier.  But it does mean this update's taking a little longer than originally anticipated.  Still can't give a release date just yet but stay tuned as I should have a better idea of that window soon.
