Sorry for the wait on this update! I've been so busy this month, it's hard to think it's already flown by. None the less I have a new teaser to share!
Here's a glimpse at the main portion of this update! For this scene, I wanted to allow for more of a CG/NSFW hybrid by choosing a pose that will feature a couple of variations to it. In this case, you're seeing them cuddling on the couch watching some of Julie's favorite movies. Be careful watching spicy hot romance flicks with her, she tends to get awfully flirty!
Progress on the update is moving along! I'll talk about it more in a public update soon about when you can expect to play Beta 0.9.
I hope you all enjoyed this little sneak peek! When some of the NSFW variations are complete I will likely tease one or two of those as well.

== Beta 0.9 ==
This update will be the conclusion of the main story for Julie. What that means is that the relationship between the player & Julie will reach a 'climax'. Julie still has more content planned after this update!
While her introduction update involved a lot of yoga & exercise, Beta 0.9 will focus on her new nightly activities before she falls asleep. She would love some company!
(Emily seems to have caught the hearts of a lot of players. She'll be getting more content in the next update so you won't have to wait terribly long for more of her!)
== Release Window ==
As usual with the first announcement of a new update, I can't give a release date yet however, I want to really try and get this update out much sooner than the last one. Because there is no new background that needs to be made, it should be very doable.

It's been quite a long wait but I'm very happy to finally begin sharing Emily's story in House Chores! It seems like she's a character who has a lot of people excited to 'interact with' so I hope you all enjoy this first look at her story!
I wanted to write Emily as a very fun and quirky house mate so there will be plenty of wacky opportunities that you may find yourself with her in as more updates are released.
ANDROID PLAYERS: there were quite a few technical changes with Beta 0.8.2 which fixes the 'low quality' mode that had originally gotten switched at some point. So many Android players were likely having issues viewing the scenes at all (black screen). I'm hoping this update should fix that problem for most Android users!
I also made some general UI improvements to help clean the game up some more. Each NSFW scene has been updated for better functionality but there may be glitches or oddities so let me know on Discord if anything weird happens in an older scene.

I noticed a lot of Android users reporting a black screen issue and noticed a nasty bug that happened within a recent update.
If you started a brand new save in the last 1/2 major updates, download this update, head to the main character's bedroom and a silent auto update should correct your save file.
The Low Quality toggle got swapped so Android versions were playing on regular (likely seeing black screens) and PC versions have been stuck on Low Quality.
If you were on Android and couldn't view scenes, let me know if this update (0.8.1) has fixed that problem for you!
So sorry about the mix-up. I'm going to look at changing some things around so the process is less confusing on both my end and the player's. I'm hoping this should help fix the issue for those affected!

The seal is finally broken. Emily has received content! It's just the start but what I've come to learn with visual novels, that's the hardest part.
Thank you all again for being patient during the delay. Even tiny visual details like a character sitting at a table takes time but yet it's so essential to getting things flowing properly.
With Emily's story, I wanted to show off the quirky and imaginative side of her so I think her storyline will end up being the most unique of the three. I hope you all enjoy that! With her love of fantasy, I was able to have some fun with some of the native features that this engine comes with ;)

Wanted to give you all a quick update. The additional art that was required for this update is all complete!
At this point, I just need to finish making the build before it's ready to go.
I've had some personal stuff holding me back this week so that originally planned March 25th date might be pushing it. Expect the release on Saturday or Sunday ($5+ Patrons). I'll likely announce the official release date on Discord once it's set in stone.

Hey everyone!
Wanted to post a short little update today.
The required art for the extension of the update is wrapping up but still not yet complete.
I'm planning to release the update for $5+ Patrons on/around March 25th! The public release would be 3 days later so likely on March 28th!
As a reminder, the art is still in progress so I can't announce this date with 100% certainty. But it does seem like a fair and reasonable release target by this point.

Hey Patrons!
Here's a sneak peek of an upcoming CG for the next update to House Chores!
Originally, this CG wasn't planned for the update so it was feeling a little awkward & rushed trying to enter into the first major scene without any proper build up. Little voyeuristic moments like this help set the events into motion a little more naturally ;)
Things are moving fast! Once this CG is done, there's one more smaller piece of art that I need and that'll be it for the required additional art. That mid/late March release window is something I'm feeling very confident about.
But, as usual, I will keep you all updated on more exact release dates as things continue moving forward.

Hey everyone!
In the last update I mentioned I was pushing back the release of the newest House Chores update. At this point, I know for certain it won't release in February due to the new art required.
The picture above is one of the new pieces of art I needed for the extension. It might seem small or insignificant but interactions like this will really help her early storyline build up properly. Another new piece that will be in progress soon will be an NSFW teaser shot similar to Linda whenever she needs to use her vacuum so there will be some new eye candy too! ;)
Sorry for the delay from the initial release plans. If you missed the recent post, I was unhappy with the lack of build up to the first major scene so I'm giving the artist enough time to add in some of those important goodies!
I'll have a better idea of if the release will be mid or late March soon so stay tuned for those updates as the last pieces of art are completed!

Hey everyone!
Today, I was hoping to announce the build releasing as soon as tomorrow. But after working on the update some more, particularly with Emily's story, I find that it's lacking some really important build-up for her story.
== New Release Window ==
I'm going to spend a little more time getting some additional art to help build up to that first scene much more effectively! It's too soon to know how much extra time I'll need but it shouldn't be too severe of a delay.
My best guess is I'll require a couple more weeks to fit in this new content but that partially depends on artist availability too so I'll have a better idea soon!
== Update Progress ==
Speaking of the update, I'm really happy with how Emily's story is developing. Because HC is made in the RPG Maker engine, I was able to utilize some of it's features to create a fun moment. A part that was originally going to be some small flavor text now has a bit more of an interactive and immersive element to it ;)

Hey everyone!
Wanted to break the silence and just chat about this update along with the near/long term plans for House Chores!
== Release Date / Window ==
I don't have a specific release date yet but I am looking to release the update this month!
The art required for this update is nearing completion and I still need to finish making the update itself. But both parts shouldn't be too tough or long.
I'll be releasing an update for Zombie's Retreat 2 this month as well so the challenge will be finding which weekend is most appropriate for HC to release. Keep an eye out both here and on Discord or Twitter for more concrete release date announcements!
== Update Contents ==
As originally announced, this update will begin the first half of Emily's story/content!
Additionally, Linda will be getting a new on-screen scene somewhere around the house ;)
Lastly, the dining room has been added to help expand the house for further events & content.
== What's Next - Roadmap ==
I wanted to talk just a little bit about what I have planned for roughly the first half of 2022.
Next up after this update will be the conclusion of Julie's main storyline! Following that should be the conclusions of Emily's main story. As the summer approaches, I think a little break by the backyard pool might be worth looking at.
House Chores feels like it's nearing completion yet there's so many things I want to do after each character has reached 'home base' so it's tough to say how long I'll keep doing updates. At this point, I'm just having fun and seeing what sort of mischief this house gets into!

Hey everyone!
Today I wanted to share a look at another new location that should be coming to the next update of House Chores. It's crazy to think that the house is still growing but there are still just a few more rooms/areas planned for the main game.
The dining area will open a lot of potential. But for now, I think it's going to be a place where you can occasionally play a table top game with Emily to help increase your 'creativity'. Think of these like chore points for Linda or exercise points for Julie!
One day I may look at some special dinner events as well. Fit for some misplaced kitchenware under the table ;)
The doorway to the left will likely be the laundry room entrance. The laundry room would be a place for some small/funny interactions on top of another location to build chore points for Linda.
Stay tuned for more teasers & updates on this upcoming build! I still can't give a release window just yet. There's a lot of stuff I need to figure out with my schedule but I hope to have news of that soon!

Bow before the Evil Queen, pathetic 'hero'

Today I wanted to share a sneak peek at Emily's first scene in House Chores! I wanted to put a twist on Emily's story. For a while, I knew I'd want her to be involved in costumes somehow and one day I had the idea for a more 'fantasy' approach.
Most or all of her scenes will have two different vantage points- the real world and the role play behind it. My goal is to give each scene a different emotion/theme.
Emily's update is underway now so I don't think it should be too much longer until it's ready to share with you all! I'll give an accurate release window/date soon.

Hey everyone!
Today I wanted to share some of the early details of the next update for House Chores - Beta 0.8.
== Emily ==
It's finally time for Emily to start getting some content! The last of the main three who haven't yet gotten any fun events or activities might end up getting some of the most unique ones of all.
Emily is really into gaming and nerd culture in general. But a mind as creative as hers needs inspiration! That's where you come in! Some of her scenes will require you to use your imagination ;)
== Original Artist ==
The original artist who originally helped start House Chores (who now goes by Shelluloid) had some free time over this winter break season and was able to help add some new content!
Shelluloid might help work on HC from time to time in the future so this will be super helpful for adding in some bonus goodies that otherwise I wouldn't be able to make time for.
In Beta 0.8, there should be a fun new on-screen scene for Linda as well! I can't resist giving her more content whenever possible...
== Release Window ==
The update is still too early to give an accurate release window but I do hope to share more news about that soon! The holiday update wound up being way more crunch than I had initially planned so I want to make sure Beta 0.8 is much more of a smooth release.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
I wanted to celebrate the festivities by adding the first short event in House Chores with Linda! In order to access the new event, you'll need to max your relationship with Linda. Afterwards, going to sleep should trigger the event.
In the future, I may add a currency system with an event shop so this event trigger may change. I have some other ideas both for holiday events and maybe even some secret content too ;)
With this update completed, now I'm actually going to begin work on Emily's content, I swear! It was certainly fun to get back to holiday content after not doing anything for over a year. Can't say I missed the tight deadlines that holiday updates bring but it all worked out perfectly.

Happy holidays everyone!
It's been over a year since I was able to add a holiday event to any of my games so it's been quite a treat to be able to return to that tradition once again, especially with House Chores since this game's development was in a much rougher state this time last year!
This update is meant to be short & sweet but I think it's turned into a nice little sidequest to add some holiday fun to the game.
Mogucho, the lead artist deserves so much credit for this update! Mogucho's been working non stop on this update and with it being so time sensitive, the deadlines were pretty tight so massive props!
In the future, I'd really like to explore a Halloween update for House Chores, this time hopefully including more/all of the main ladies with a little bit more of an involved storyline. So look forward to that potentially happening in 2022!
But now, it's officially time to start focusing on Emily and making sure her content gets moving.

Hey everyone!
Wanted to use this time to talk about the holiday update as well as some of my main plans next year for House Chores!
== Release Date/Window ==
I want this update to release just in time for the holiday weekend. Ideally, having this update out for $5+ Patrons on Dec 17th would be great. If the artist needs a tad bit more time then I'll push it back by a few days if necessary. But Dec 17th-23rd is about when you can expect the $5+ Patron build and the public build to release!
The artwork is still underway so I'll have a solid release date announced soon either on here or on twitter!
== Holiday Content ==
Something I want to make sure is very clear with this update is that it will be very short! This is just meant to be a small little event for the holidays as well as a way to give Linda a fun extra 'moment' to share with the main character.
The holiday event itself won't contain a large questline so the added playtime of this update's gonna be short. But so far it's turning out to be a nice little charming event which is something I want House Chores to have plenty of when it's all complete!
== 2022 Plans ==
Right after this update, the beginning of Emily's story will be up next! I think her story will have a pretty unique 'gimmick' to it. Sort of like how Linda is chores and Julie is exercise. Emily's will probably be the most 'imaginative' one ;P
2022 will be a very fun year for House Chores. 2021 was the year HC finally got back into the swing of things with consistent releases and content in the later half. Moving forward, the core game could actually be finished in as little as 3/4 updates!
But after that, I want to look at expanding the neighborhood slightly with a few new characters & interactions. I recently asked in Discord what players would like to see when the 3 housemates have their main scenes complete. Whether that be an expansion, sequel, or new game in the same neighborhood. I'm still undecided but what I do know is I'd like to delve deeper into these characters and the potentially vibrant neighbors around them. We'll see when we get there!

Hey everyone!
Happy to finally be able to share some visual teasers of the next update coming to House Chores.
As you can see, Beta 0.7 is already well underway and a lot of the required art is already completed! This update will be a simple one introducing a small little side story for Linda to add some festive activities within the house. This is the first of hopefully a couple different seasonal events I want to add between now and the final update to HC by the end of next year or so.
The release date of Beta 0.7 isn't certain yet but I want to have it out just in time for the holidays next month! So far, everything's on pace for that.

This holiday season, Beta 0.7 will be releasing featuring a special holiday event with Linda!
Looking forward into 2022, Beta 0.8 will release and this update will start Emily's storyline. I'm taking a short little detour because it's been so long as I've done a holiday event. I think House Chores is at a point where I can start adding fun bonus activities alongside the main content too from time to time!

This update aims to get a lot of backlogged tasks completed for artwork so you'll see some new changes to Linda's bust design as well as Emily's Bedroom.
Additionally, to still provide some new NSFW content, Linda got a bit of a touch-up on her first scene. It now scales properly alongside her story progress so I highly encourage starting a fresh save and selecting that scene as you progress to see some of those special moments. She also has a new on-screen scene as well.
Stay tuned for details on the next update. It will either focus on Linda with a Christmas event or the beginning of Emily's storyline. Either way, there will be a big focus on NSFW content so if you weren't satisfied with the new stuff in 0.6.9, the next update should start ramping that stuff back up.

I wasn't intending on Linda getting so much attention in this update but for Linda fans, surprise! She really got a number of tweaks throughout her story.
One major change is her first scene now scales a bit with your current progress in her story. This means a few interactions in this scene are missable so if you want to start on a clean save file, I recommend periodically triggering the first scene once or twice before moving onto the next major scene.
In addition, a new on-screen scene in the morning after completing the main part of her story! Nice little quickie to start the day. Another bonus variation to her night time scene plus some other small details. You can check out the changelog in the Windows download.
For the rest of the update, you'll probably notice there's some future-proofing for Emily's update. I'm super excited with how Emily's room turned out! This was the current artists' first background for House Chores!
I was originally thinking Emily's update would be next but... maybe a short holiday event involving Linda first? I'll probably conduct a Patron poll on this sometime soon.
There's a little visual glitch with Emily's new clickable. This is noted and will be fixed. The artist is on a short break till the end of the month.
Hope you enjoy this update! I had a lot of fun making it. I feel like House Chores is really starting to come together with the various content and activities which has me incredibly excited to continue working on more!

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to give a small update so you all can know when to expect the next update.
== Progress ==
The last bit of art for this new update was finished today so that scene has now been sent off to get animated. In the meantime, I'm going to start focusing heavily on the update making sure all of the new stuff is properly implemented.
As I've mentioned before, this update's gonna be pretty simple on my end. Most of what's new is art stuff so I don't want to set expectations super high that this update will be packed to the brim with new quests and events. This is checking off some things that have been on the to-do list for quite some time.
Because of that, I decided to name this build Beta 0.6.9 since it's more of a build up for Beta 0.7 and... well, you know. Nice
With that said, I do hope you enjoy the new on-screen scene when it's finished!

Hey everyone!
I wanted to share one more main update before the next update releases. There's been some new developments so I have a much more solid plan on what will be in this new build. I also wanted to go over the new stuff coming in this update.
== What's New ==
This build probably won't add much to your total playtime. But at the same time, so many important tasks have been accomplished.
1: Linda's bust re-design
2: New location: Emily's Bedroom (Day & Night)
3: New clickable object: Emily at her computer
4: New clickable object: Linda at night on her bed
-Her NSFW scene now can properly be re-experienced without the awkward dialogue option at her door
5: (Still needs to be complete): Linda animated on-screen NSFW scene during Morning
This confirms that the next update will focus on Emily and her story. A lot of the tasks in this update are meant to help prepare for her update so more time can be spent on NSFW scenes instead!
== Release Date ==
The artist is going to be away during a part of late Oct so the plan is to finish this on-screen scene before then and I should be able to release the update shortly after!
Right now, I'd expect a mid-October release window. There shouldn't be any need to delay as this update will be fairly easy to put together and most of the new additions are already added!

Hey everyone!
Sorry for being quiet this month. Everything is progressing well but there isn't really a ton of news or stuff to show just yet. However, I do feel pretty certain that an October release window should be possible for this next update!
== Catching Up/Backlog ==
I've been talking about it a lot over these past couple of Patreon updates but a lot of time has been spent getting a lot of clickables added to help give more current & future interactivity and fortunately, I feel like I got a large part of that backlog finished up.
After this new clickable of Emily is finished, I think that will suffice for clickables in this new update!
There are still some things from older content that I want to revisit and improve upon in future updates. The main thing is Julie's Yoga event. I want to have some pictures of them stretching in clearly awkward/erotic positions to help provide more build up to the scene that was recently added.
== NSFW & Release ==
This is the part I'm still a bit uncertain on. I'd like to have an October release date as that would be 3 months since the last update. So the question is- what should the NSFW content focus on?
Right now, I'm torn between two main possibilities-
1. On-screen scene for Linda and/or Julie
-On-screen scene's are a bit faster to get done as they don't require a new background which would make an October release much easier to pull off. Then for the next update, I'd focus more/all attention on Emily making sure she has more time to get some content finished.
2. One full scene for Emily
-I know people are ready to see Emily get some action (as am I). But a full scene with a unique background will take more time for the artist to draw. In addition, I have to put a little more time into starting her story & mechanics. I worry this may be tougher to finish by the end of Oct and I'm really not wanting to have any more 4+ month updates.

Thank you all for being so patient too. There's been so many new things for HC this month but at the same time, most of these things aren't super exciting to share. Once the new NSFW content is starting up though, well, you'll see the teasers ;P

Hey HC Patrons!
Here's a look at a new clickable that will be added in the next House Chores update!
When your relationship with Linda reaches a certain point, I want her availability and interactions to change and match that flirtatious energy steadily building.
What exactly will you do when you see her in this pose? Well the answer is, you'll be able to naturally lead into the sex scene that she just received recently..!
Giving her a clickable icon in her bedroom at night is one of many various 'clickables' that still need to be finished so this is one that I wanted to knock out with this update. If you recall, revisiting the Linda sex scene is very awkward as I don't actually have an icon for her in her room.
Eventually, maybe this single clickable could lead into other NSFW scenes? Maybe with some guests ;P But that's another update for another day.

That's about all that's left for this update that I want to get done and then it should be almost ready to release! At that point, I'll have a better idea of the release date too so I'll be sure to share that info asap!

Hey everyone!
Today I'm happy to share the third and final planned redraw for the House Chores trio of women!
== Linda ==
In order to keep things consistent with the slight change in art style, I wanted to have Linda's redraw completed sooner rather than later so I went ahead and asked the artist to get this task knocked out.
With the 'maid' characters, I'm extra picky & particular about their look so Linda saw a few tweaks & changes until the artist got her to this point. I'm very happy with how she turned out and she now fits in so well with the other two. Her original design was one that I was really pleased with so that made it extra difficult to nail the new look but I think Mogucho did just that!
Hope you all enjoy the new look for this trio! Maybe a couple more characters will get introduced farther down the road? Emily needs a friend to hang with and it's common courtesy to greet your neighbors! ;)
== Backlog & Progress Report ==
With the Linda redraw done, Emily's emotions added, and Emily's bedroom completed, I feel like a bulk of the 'backlog' is complete and the focus can shift back to NSFW scenes and more on-screen interactions for a little while.
There are still a couple of maps I want to get done at some point (Laundry Room, Backyard, and more?) but these will likely get sprinkled out over new updates.
From here, the plan will be to get another NSFW scene going so that this update can have some juicy content to reach! I'm still not entirely sure if it will be a full NSFW scene (with custom background) or 1 or 2 partial NSFW scenes where they are overlayed over the rooms. Depending on which path we go, that may determine when this build is able to be completed so I will update you all as soon as I know more about that!
Thank you all for sticking through that little backlog clean up. Everyone's been super patient which always helps out a lot!

Hey everyone!
Got a pretty simple update to share today but I just wanted to talk a little bit more about the anticipated release window and when you can expect to see the next House Chores update!
== 2 Month Windows Vs. 3 Month ==
Usually with my games, I like to release an update every 2 months when possible. Sometimes delays and other factors change that but it's the goal.
With House Chores, I want to achieve that goal as well but there are some things holding that back. Unlike my other games, the need for backgrounds and clickable objects (characters/objects/etc) stretch that time that's needed per update.
When updates require a new BG or some new clickables, I anticipate those updates will usually take roughly 3 months. If they don't, then maybe some 2 month release gaps will occur too! So moving forward, most updates should weave in between these 2 or 3 months depending on what's required.
For this next update, that would mean a release in late Sept or October but I want to really push for a September release!
== Halloween/Seasons ==
This year, I was really hoping to add some seasonal content to House Chores but it just might be a bit too soon. We'll see. The year isn't over quite yet. If there's enough time to comfortably add content, I'll announce it as the months continue but if not, I anticipate 2022 will have a lot of fun seasonal content in House Chores!
I imagine the answer is largely yes but would you all be interested in some seasonal events & outfits?

Hey Patrons!
Wanted to do a quick little poll here.
In order to wrap up the backlog tasks, I wanted to go ahead and squeeze out Linda's bust refresh so the main 3 women could have consistent art moving forward with updates!
However, Linda's bust refresh was meant to be pretty simple. Hers was going to be an exact replica of the original pose. But when I saw it, I realized that all 3 women would now be resting their hand on their hip.
Not that this is a huge deal but some level of diversity with the poses would be nice so instead I was thinking of maybe leaning towards #3, the one on the far right. It keeps many elements of the original pose but still helps her feel... 'maid-like'.
Let me know your thoughts. The poll winner is NOT guaranteed but it does give me an idea on how everyone else feels about them.
