Another small progress update

Hi 

Not much to say, but I thought I'd keep you guys in the loop.

I'm waiting on the last 3 renders to finish, and I can say that the side project demo alpha is finished.

I'll be sending that to 20$ patrons later tonight.

Depending on the feedback I get from them, and how much I'll have to change,  I'll make the demo available to all my patrons either tomorrow evening or Tuesday evening.

0.042 public release

As threatened, it's time for a public release. 
 


This is 0.042, and much has happened since 0.035 


Unfortunately, it's not save game compatible. I've changed the code so much since 0.035, that compatibility is impossible. Plus an old undiscovered bug, in the old versions, that made weekdays not roll over properly, makes weekends unplayable

Making the new 0.42 public and ETA on demo

Most of the work on the recoding has been done. We've used a couple of shortcuts that my friend knew, and I think we're nearing completion. 


So, there will be a new version of 0.42 ready sometime tonight. Please note, that there is no new content, just under the hood improvements.

Progress update

Well, it's Wednesday and time for a progress update. 


The Dana recoding is going pretty well, it started quite slow, but once you get the hang of it, speed increases quite quickly. And it should be all done, early next week. 


The side project is a bit of a different matter. 

The increased complexity of the renders makes render times atrocious. Currently I average 3h per render.

Side project preview "Dysfunctional Family"

Hi


Got home from the dentist and thought I'd give you guys the promised preview.


" Dysfunctional Family " , final title :P,  will be a comparativelyshort game, 900 renders or so.

It will center around, well, a  dysfunctional family. Mom, dad and daughter. When we find them, the marriage is hitting the rocks and they all have different ways of dealing with it.

Progress update

Well things are going OK I suppose. 


The Dana weekend day 2 alpha is going well, turns out to be another 100+ render affair :P 


I've been redoing old renders as well, and should have about 15 of them ready for this weekend. 
 

On a side note, I'm going in for a little oral surgery on Monday. But on the plus side, that means I'm taking the whole week off work. So I'll be able to get quite a lot done, next week. ...

Next patch and future plans

 Hi guys 


Sorry for the delayed post, RL got in the way. 
 

Well in the next patch, this weekend, I'll be releasing part 2 of the Dana weekend.    


Since I'm already a day behind, I don't know how much time I'll have for anything else. So I'll probably be remaking and replacing old renders with the rest of my time. I'll be able to tell you more on that in a progress update, 2 days from now.

Progress update an a little anouncement

Well, the alpha is almost ready and will be going out to 20$ patrons sometime tonight. 


The rest is going well to, but the the map and weekends are very coding intensive, there are no doubt some things that I've missed and that will cause some bugs. I'm trying to test it as thoroughly as I can, but mistakes do happen. So I'll be counting on you guys to point them out for correction.

Dreaming of Dana version 0.035 is out now. 

I’ve changed the way save games react to variables, and this should be the last time you need to start a new game. All subsequent versions so far, are save game compatible, but this one isn’t. 

So, VERY IMPROTANT. You need to start a new game.

Well it's Wednesday, and time for a progress update. 


I've written the code for the implementation of weekend, and it seems to be working fine. It still needs testing, but everything is going well. 
 


The problem, is that weekends aren't populated with events yet, so there isn't much to do.

Next patch plans

 Hi 
 

Well, the results are in, and "weekends" won a CRUSHING victory. It wasn't close. 


So, in the next patch I'll be implementing weekends.  


I'll also be making the first weekend scene, so that players have something to do besides putter around the house. :P 


I've also been informed at work that, this week will be less crowded than the last. So, I may have time to include one more thing in the next patch.

More on save games and progress update

I managed to get the save games working without having to download a reset variables game, and go through everything I mentioned in my last post. 
 

So, I won't be uploading a variable reset game as I mentioned. It will all be resolved by simply pressing a button in the next patch :) 
 

Also, I'll be finishing the Andrea random tonight. Tomorrow I'll do the last of the coding, and the patch should be ready tomorrow night.

Well, here we are and as usual the events grew in size as I worked on them. I'm not even going to mention that from now on. It should just be assumed. :P

 
The Jessica date part 2 is almost done. The coding is done, renders are done, and the writing for it is 80% done. The alpha for it should be ready sometime tomorrow.

Plans for next patch

Well, here are the plans for the next patch.

I was informed today at work, that I'll have a pretty hard week. 

So, I'm not sure exactly how much I'll be able to get done by this weekend.

What will certainly be included in the next patch is the second part of the Jessica track date.

And probably another random event.


I'd like to tell you more, but I'm just not sure how much time I'll have at my disposal to invest in the game this week....

Update on next patch

Hi


Progress update time.

Well, the Dana random is almost done, It will be finished tonight. It's taking me longer than I'd hoped to make it, because Dana's dress gave me fits.

Also it turned out to have an optional sex scene at the end(if you make the right choices). I didn't want to make it with a sex scene, but as soon as I saw Chris in his suit, the words " Good evening mister Luthor" popped into my head. The thing just took a life of it's own after that.

Plans for next patch

Well, the votes are in, and it looks like you'll be getting another sex scene this weekend.


I don't really know, what the sex scene will be, it depends on how soon some backgrounds will be ready.

Also, I'm making a couple of more random encounters. 

One will be of Dana, because I had a great idea for one at work today. Yeah, I think about this stuff at work, sue me :P

And one for Maria, since she's the least developed character at the moment.

0.035 and other announcements

Well. I've been hard at work making 0.035. 
I'm putting the finishing touches on the Andrea alpha now, and will send it to my 20+ patrons later tonight. 
 

I'll be spending the rest of the night finishing the Dana random encounter 2. And tomorrow morning, or afternoon :P, depends when I wake up, I'll be implementing everything into the main game. 
 

So the patch will be released tomorrow evening. :)

Update on 0.035

Hi 


Just thought I'd keep you updated on how things are going of 0.035

Well, things are ok so far.

The Jessica random event is finished.

The Andrea pool event is about 25% finished. The only problem with it is the background, that won't be finished on time. So I'll be using a temporary background untill that is done.

And the new office interiors will be fully implemented.

Well, 0.034 was on time, but it was close :P 
 

So my plans for 0.035 will be a little less ambitious. 


It will contain the Andrea 50 affection date scene(s). I say it that way because it will be a 3 stage event and probably over 150 renders. 

It will also contain the first Jessica random encounter. 

Plus whatever else I can finish by the end of the week.

Update on next patch

Hi 


I'd just like to update you guys on the progress made for 0.034.


Well, it's going pretty well so far.

The first in game day of the two day event is almost finished, and the scripting for day 2 is well on it's way.


The patch will include the Dana getaway event and not much else since this event is so large.


So, barring any major incident the patch will be released to all 5$ patrons this weekend as promised.

Plans and date for next release

Hi

I've been thinking on what to include in the next update, and I've made a decision.

The next update will be all about Jessica.

I was wondering whether to implement some random encounters I have planned for the game. But I decided against doing it now. After all, Jessica is  a major character and she hasn't even been introduced to the player yet. I'll be doing the random encounters and implimenting the weekends at some future time.
