Rose Room Extras

Hello all. Hope you enjoyed yesterday's Rose Room video. Here are the PDFs and Guitar Pro files of the tabs. I'm also including the rhythm part which isn't on my site. And a basic backing track you can solo along to.

Hope this is all working properly. Any problems with the downloads, let me know.

Have a great rest of your weekend!

Charlie Christian, Part 2

Morning all, and a special welcome to those of you who are new here. Today I have one more Charlie Christian video for you. After taking a more general look at his style a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to make a video on one of his classic solos in its entirety: Rose Room as played by the Benny Goodman Orchestra. It's quite tough solo, so I suggest taking it slowly phrase by phrase to start with. Have fun with it. I'll get the tabs up here later. Oh, here's the link -

Human Fly

Morning everyone! I have a new video for you today and it's another Cramps song, filmed a few weeks ago at the same time as the Goo Goo Muck lesson. It's another fun, reasonably easy to play song. I've also made a backing track which I will post up here tomorrow along with the music and tab to both guitar parts. Today I'll be making a new video. I'm thinking a bit of Dinosaur Jr.

Speak soon, Adrian.

Oh, and here's the link to the video: 2018-09-14 08:32:12 +0000 UTC View Post

Charlie Christian Style Music/Tab

As promised here's the music/tab for the Charlie Christian lesson - a PDF and the Guitar Pro files. The 10 basic licks are free on my site, but here I go into a bit more detail with the related chord and arpeggio fingerings just for you lovely patrons. Have fun, and speak next week!

The Charlie Christian Guitar Style

Morning all! I've just uploaded today's lesson. I thought it was time I did a bit of jazz, so I've got an in-depth look at the guitar style of Charlie Christian for you. Even if you're not a jazzbo, I hope there will be things of interest to you in the video. I've always found that studying a bit of jazz has really helped me when it comes to playing other styles. The video got a little more in-depth than I was intending and there's a lot of information here, so do take your time with it. I'll ge...

New Video Friday

Hi all, and welcome to 2 or 3 new patrons this week! It's been a while since I've done anything acoustic, so today I'm looking at a favourite fingerstyle piece - Sunflower River Blues by the great American folk guitarist John Fahey. It's in open C tuning and easier to play than you might think, so why not give it a try this weekend. I'll post the tab PDF up here in the next day or two. Check out the video here: https...

New Video Today

Hello all! Another equipment-focussed video today. I'm talking about, and giving you some tones from my little Fender Super Champ, a really versatile  amp that I've used to make the majority of my videos so far. I'm also in the process of building a 'gear' section on my site as a home for this and future videos on guitars, amps and pedals. Hope you enjoy watching.

Friday is also my filming day for new content. The plan is to do a bit of jazz today, a style I've not covered in quite a whil...

Goo Goo Extras

Hi everyone. Here are a few extra things related to yesterday's video. PDFs for both guitar parts along with my Guitar Pro files. And an mp3 backing track - it's structured just like the original recording so you should be able to play the whole song along from start to finish. Hope you enjoy learning it. Speak next week!

New Lesson Friday

Morning everyone! Today I'm looking at Goo Goo Muck by The Cramps. As I say in the video, I think the Cramps are a perfect fit for my my channel - bridging the gap between the 50s rock n roll and the more punky  things I enjoy. This one is really fun to pay and nice and beginner-friendly too. As well as mixing up the styles, I do try and look at songs for people of all levels of playing experience too. Have fun. I'll post tabs and a backing track here soon.

Lonesome Train Extras

As promised, here are a few bonus materials relating to yesterday's video. There's the backing track I play over at the start of the video. I've looped it to make it a bit longer. Use it to practice the solo, the entire song, or just have fun jamming along using G minor or major pentatonic, or the G blues scale. There's a PDF of the tab, which includes the verse 1 & 2 parts which aren't on my site. And finally the Guitar Pro file for the tab. Guitar Pro can be a great practice tool, particul...

New Video Friday

Hi all! 2 or 3 new patrons on board this week, so welcome to you. I had no idea whether anyone would want to sign up when I started this page, so it's  great that there's been quite a bit of interest already. Today's new video is a rock n roll/rockabilly classic: Lonesome Train (On a Lonesome Track) by Johnny Burnette & The Rock n Roll trio. I particularly love the solo to this one, played by Nashville session ace Grady Martin. Great touch and rhythm, and loads of nice rock n roll licks...

New Video Today: My 1966 Mustang

Hello all. And a special welcome to the 3 new patrons who signed up this week - lovely to have you on board here!

Quite a few people seemed to enjoy the recent video I did on my Telecaster, so I'm following that up today with a look at my Fender Mustang. It's a cool, quirky guitar that I've recently been enjoying playing again after a long period when it was just sitting in its case under a bed since there was no space for it in my old music room. It's just gone live on YouTube. I'm going to t...

Love Comes In Spurts

Hello all! And welcome to the couple of new patrons who joined this week - very good to have you on board here. I was pleased to get lot of positive feedback on last week's Telecaster video, and will be adding more gear-focussed videos in the coming weeks.

This week, I'm going punk with a look at Love Comes In Spurts by Richard Hell & The Voidoids. The solo in particular is brilliant, and well worth learning. Hope you enjoy. I'll be posting a PDF of the tab and the Guitar Pro file up here ...

Gene Clark tab and backing track

Hello all! For those of you who are interested, I'm attaching some materials relating to last week's Gene Clark video:

- a high-quality PDF of the solo music/tab.

 - An mp3 of the backing track I made. I've extended this to 3 minutes long. You can use this to practice the solo itself or just have some fun jamming along. The G major pentatonic scale (the same notes as as E minor pentatonic) would be a good starting point).

- My Guitar Pro file of the solo. If you use the Guitar...
