Status Updates and Flora & Sauna 1.1.7 Poll

Hey all! Now that June is coming to a close, the Patreon will be unpaused and game production will resume. July is a "Lost in Saunia" month, but a lot of the work right now involves building the game engine. I'll try to mix in some design work and pinups so there's more that can be shown off immediately.

Hell on Earth Design Iterations

I've been messing around with Lucy and Mira's character designs for Hell on Earth, playing with the shapes/style/coloring. This is all just loose and rough sketching to get a feel for each configuration. After much expirementing I'm leaning towards the sharp, angular, mostly black and white style in the top left. The next step is to draw this design in all sorts of poses/angles and see how well it'll animate.

Tales of Saunia: Kavara's Design 2.0

We're really chugging through designs this month! In Tales of Saunia Kavara is a magic scholar with an elemental heart. She pulls fire from the orb inset in her chest and shapes it with her magic. In combat she's a ranged mage who lights terrain aflame, laying traps and guarding areas. Her fire is powerful, but can end up burning allies if she isn't careful.

The second image shows my first pass at the design. I'm much happier with the new one for visual variety and silhouette. -Oz

Tales of Saunia: Enro's Design

Another design hot off the presses! In Tales of Saunia, Enro plays an ice dancer. Her current kit has her skating across the battlefield, maintaining a resource called "grace" that let's her ignore incoming damage and crowd control. She'll be a dexterous frontliner, weaving in and out of the fray and leaving an icy path behind her.

Tales of Saunia: Nikita Character Design 2.0

This is Nikita! He's a Sable Card Magician and our first wholly new character for Tales of Saunia. His magic allows him to stretch and snake his body like a slinky dog, extending his midsection to crazy proportions.

This design also got a second pass. The first image shows the new design now that he has his proper makeup, outfit, and proportions.

Build 1.1.5 is now available! This update adds a quest with a new guest character and fixes several bugs and typos.

Pixel Art Sprite Tests

While the Visual Novel portions of Tales of Saunia will use the rigged models we've shown previously, we're thinking of using pixel art for the combat sections. Tales of Saunia: Oz Animated Sprite Demo

Our second Tales of Saunia Sprite is done! This isn't a specific animation for the game, but rather a demonstration of the rigged model. We'll be working on Tales of Saunia more in November!
