Hovering a rocket

Anyone want the stl files from this project? I'll post them up if you wish, but I doubt anyone wants to replicate a hovering foam tube haha!

Electric Bike V3

The dual motor setup has now been scrapped due to yet another VESC failure. This being my 3rd VESC V4 failure whilst using it within the rated limits. I have since got my hands on a VESC 6, which is apparently more reliable when using 12s (50.4v) and can also handle a constant 80A, instead of the old 8s (33.6V) and 50A that I was previously using. I have chosen to go with a Turnigy CA80 160kv motor, which is roughly an 8080 size motor, over the previous 6073 motors. The theoretical constant output of the dual motor setup was 3360W (1680W each). This new single motor should theoretically output 4032W constant! And it is far less complex and should be more efficient due to the removal of resistance from the belt between the motors. It is still a while away from completion as I am building a new li-ion battery pack to handle the power better, as well as increasing range. I may have also found out how to configure a thumb throttle to activate the regenerative braking capabilities of the VESC!

Upcoming project

The ebike development is on hold this week due to a speed controller failure... so can anyone guess what I'm up to next?

Aluminium motor mount

Follow on from the previous post, I've hand cut/drilled the aluminium section of the new dual motor mount! It allows the motor belt tension to be adjusted as the belt stretches over time. Will also remove any flex and should help with motor cooling. Hopefully will have it mounted and working by the weekend and get the video sorted soon!

Work on the V2.2 Dual motor mount is nearing completion!

Decided to mount the motors parallel to the rear fork as there was an issue with one motor coming in contact with the back of my foot whilst pedalling. This also uses a 6mm aluminium sheet to mount the motors to, which will provide added strength and adjustable slots for the belt to be tensioned.

Electric bike dual motor .stl files

Welcome to all my new Patrons! As I mentioned in my latest ebike video, I've decided to upload the stl files from my projects to here. So only you guys will have access to them as a thanks for your support!
