Hey look! 2 new pages today, of which this one is the first!

Artist's Commentary:

So, the idea for the descending panels came about when I was drawing the thumbnails for this page, and realized hey, I could do descending panels! Any time I want there to be a feeling of spiraling, descending or repetitive panels is a great way to do it. I change primarily the zoom amount (because the closer you get to someone in a panel, the more involved you are with their feeling...

Beta Test: New Tamberlane Site

Hey all! The new site is ready for beta testing! Before you venture into the New Frontier:

The new comment system is through the forum on Discourse. The way it works is that the first time the first person loads up a new page, it creates a new thread on the forum. If the comments section says "Loading Discussion..." and hangs on "Error Loading Discussion", it just made that thread. Just reload and it'll work perfectly. This is working as intended for now. Whew, I'm glad I managed to get this page out. Wrist was hurting after the weekend and then my meds are still on a low dosage so my energy has been pretty zapped. But hey! A PAGE!

I realized today that this scene is nearly over and that means I need to start writing the next one. WHOOPS.

Ew!

Hoo boy. I committed so many word balloon cardinal sins on this one. Trying to get all those words on here, plus the art, was a difficult task. That plus a pain flare and a general malaise from med switch kept this page a bit late this week lmao. BUT IT'S HERE. And hopefully the next one will be easier.

Anyway, word balloons.

Panel 1: A long string of vertical balloons, which has no dynamism or back and forth. It leads the eye staunchly aw...

I swear, this was written before the epidemic was a thing!

===

So, this segue has been an...interesting experiment.

In comics, you generally want to have as few words on the page as possible. Otherwise you have no room for artwork and it overwhelms the reader. But when you're writing a children's book, you should make room for a little bit more wordiness to make sure the story isn't super sterile.

Turns out when you combine these two media, IT'S REALLY HARD.

I know if MY mom had a fluffy ruff, I would be divebombing into it for snuggles, too!

EDIT: Mistakes were made and the wrong page was uploaded! Our bad!

WHEW. Thanks for the patience. Between the background and the character acting, this page was tougher than I expected. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Tamberlane's day seems to have picked up!

I'm trying something new on this background. Usually I make the backgrounds meticulously with every surface on its own layer for maximum customizability for the scene if I need it. But that takes FOREVER. So this time I'm doing a single layer and painting it all at once, with a few parts of it on different layers so I can adjust as needed.

Let me know what you think!

Patreon post tomorrow will be a bit late

Hey y'all! I've been chipping away at the page for tomorrow but I am fatiguey and exhausted and my hands hurt. So I'm taking it slow. I'm almost done inking it, so hopefully it'll be done before tomorrow is up. Thanks for your patience <3

Process: Bedroom Background

Hey all! I've been working on the background for the next scene and I finally finished. I'm trying something new: in the past I've had all the different shapes on their own layer so I can adjust as needed, but I don't anticipate I'll need to adjust much for this scene. So nearly everything is on one layer. Just the footboard and chest are separated out, because I don't want them to get in the way of closeup shots on the bed.

1. I start with the thumbnail I drew for the page and try to e...

The hardest part about Belfry bartering things is finding something she  can provide without hurting herself and those around her with collateral  damage.
