As I said, in the original comics Mendoza's only characteristics were his mustache, the fact that he only said his own name, and that Partner really, really hated him. That gave me a bit of pause in the remake, because fleshing him out or dropping him for a new villain were equally viable options.

We're back from break, thanks for your patience, everyone. My wife got me a new drawing tablet for Christmas, so that time was useful in allowing me to get used to the new tool. I was using the older tablet for over ten years, so this should prove pretty transformative.

Are you ready for the year of Action Hat!? Rebooting this series was actually a little more challenging than expected, and I'll go into detail in the description of the next comics in the sequence.
There will be a feature length caper this time around, and that made me significantly rework series antagonist Mendoza. A rework was necessary because as you may be aware, Mendoza's only character trait was saying his own name.

Juggling a Few Things
Hey patrons, I'm finishing up the next Reading Days right now, and you'll have it soon. Sorry, this week's been nuts and I've been trying to get something cool ready for you guys.
Odessa is in the works, but I may delay the next strip so I can add 3 strips I think the cold open needs to transition to the current section. Honestly, it's a fun part of this method. The strips are designed to be modular, so I can go back, add things and move sections around with minimal impact.

Here's a section of the comic with dialogue (you know, other than, like, "damnit"). There won't be much of these over the whole course of the story as Zahra will be on her own for most of her quest, but the next 40 or so strips will have some other characters for her to talk to.

Season 3 Monday Comic Poll
I'm beginning to plan season 3 content for Thirteenth Child Studios, which will begin early 2019. Odessa: More Than Dust will remain the primary exclusive Friday feature, but I am considering running a different comic on Mondays in place of Reading Days.
