Granny & Cat - Final Illustration

New Work in Progress!

Christmas Break

Hello friends!

Water sketches

I spent today painting water because I wanted to get better at it. It was a lot of fun because you can get pretty creative with it.
I also wanted to practice using light colours with a bit of hue variation here and there. And I also paid attention to my brush economy. Rather than painting over areas multiple times, I planned ahead and tried to be more efficient.
I'm pretty happy with the result.

Seth: Character Sheet

I went to the city center to go grocery shopping today, which turned out to be a big mistake. I completely forgot that it's Black Friday and it was insanely crowded. But once I got back I got to work and this is the result.

Leigh, Eiki and snow

I'm slowly but surely getting in the winter mood. The goal for this painting was to do something quick and winter-themed. And since I'm completely immersed in my project Phantasma, I figured I'd draw Leigh and her owl buddy Eiki. It's all a little messier and looser than usual, but I still like how it turned out. 

Procreate says this took me 4:39, which isn't bad, compared to my other work that takes me forever. Let me know if you want to see the process ...

Village - Concept Art

I hope you're not tired of these yet. They're just a really great way for me to visualise the whole project - or at least the main locations. Since Phantasma is essetially a travel story, I plan it according to the differents "stations" the characters hit on their journey. And this is one of the first ones: A quaint mountain village, surrounded by rapseed fields.

This was a fun one. Took me around two hours to put together and it's very much how I imagined the forest to look like. A little bit like the forest on Yakushima Island, but more mossy. I hope you like it!
