This past year has been quite the rollercoaster, but for our team, it was probably one of the most if not the most productive year ever!
Let's start with a summary of last year's work:
-15 Hamtaro episodes, three of which were subbed by our collaborator Prayash.
-11 Hamtaro revamped episodes.
-1 Hamtaro movie revamped and 1 Hamtaro OVA revamped
-5 Jewelpet Sunshine episodes, completing the season....
And here's the big gift for this Christmas 2020!
The first Hamtaro OVA was originally subbed for his birthday on August 2011. It's been a whole 9 years, and although we would like to say that we improved a lot from the previous translation, surprisingly the original work was fairly well translated and the changes there are minor.

For Xmas this year we decided that, since we have already subbed almost all winter-related episodes, we would be working on episodes that the team wants to see done, as a "gift to ourselves".

Human episodes are not what we fair better with, and this episode includes characters that are very hard to translate due to their speech quirks and our inexperience with them.

This is also a Setsubun episode... maybe we should have left this for when Setsubun is closer, but oh well.
As you can tell by how fast this sneak peek is being released, this episode has been way more easier to sub than 185, as it focuses mainly on the Ham-Hams.

We are not happy with the translation of this episode. It focuses heavily on humans, and more so on very hard to sub ones like Charlotte's father, but the whole Setsubun theme has caused us trouble.
We did our best and delayed this a little just so we could make sure that we got the best translation possible with our current knowledge, but even so we're not quite pleased with the result. It is enjoyable, after all it's not a bad episode, but it's not the best.

This episode is one of many Pepper episodes but we have to admit that the main plot of the episode is a little... weird. It sounds like there was a misunderstanding but they never bothered to explain it or point it out, so we translated it as best as we could but there's this one moment in the episode that the plot changes for some reason that makes little sense to us.

This episode was rather easy to work with, there was a really small group of characters so that narrow down the action a lot.
